I live in AKL CBD (top of upper queen st) and i think i got a good deal in my rent,(280  including water, power and inside parking) and everything is walking distance but again the thing is been on my own allows me to live in a small apartment ( i dont share anything of course) and i rather at this stage of my life just pay rent and spend the money of a mortage in explore the world, next year europe for 3 months baby!!! :jive:

That's actually a pretty good deal for renting in town, especially if it came with its own kitchen,  but most of these apartments are pretty darn tiny!

My olds are selling up in Auckland this weekend and moving to Tauranga.

Value of the home is likely to be close to double what they paid for it in 2005.

funny you should mention that, my girlfriends parents having auction this week on their place in auckland moving to tga and similar thing, close to double.

if/when i move back to nz il be buying (so a good 2-3 years away) and will aim for tauranga or close to there.

seems crazy to pay for auckland unless that's where you need to be for work
