Buying a house these days

Maori hill sounds like it would be cheap as living lol.

Lol its actually an upmarket area. Kind of like a remuera of dunedin. Roslyn is shit though. Waverly better suburb with newer houses. Few others too but most dunedin suburbs are shit and houses are cheap. Remember my old flatmates parents bought 3 bedroom house in northeast valley for 175k as an investment property. Small section though.

Trouble is, many jobs (like mine) are only based in Auckland. To live somewhere else, I'd have to choose another career.

Friends of mine recently moved their house and business up from Auckland to Tutukaka (just out of Whangarei, and gateway to some of NZ's best diving). The amount they save in rent pays for a dive trip each week, and they still have change left over.

I think that's my life goal, right there! :P

The cost for homes in Dunedin can vary in price range depending on which part of Dunedin like Maori hill or roslyn can be more expensive since there are some flash homes in that part of Dunedin

Auckland still tops all Nz citys.

Better jobs, better food, better and more varied pussy, less inbreeding etc etc so on and so forth

Nah. Its a shit hole. Half population doesn't even speak english and its congested as f*ck. Any increase in pay is offset by higher rent/property prices. Im never going to live there again unless it was for a ridiculous amount of money which isnt realistic.

Is that expensive to you?

Bruh. Why would anyone blow that sort of money on something they don't even own. That's my morgage for a month including some rates lol. Leaves me $$$ to spend on food, kids, my gym, competing and enjoying life. Auckland sucks. Its basically a suburb of China now. Wendy's had their menu in Chinese lel

If you're buying a house on your own it can be quite difficult, but if you are with a partner it is definitely not too hard if you both are on say alight salaries eg 50k-60k+ a year. It would take probably 3-4 years of savings.

People say it is not even worth buying a house these days and renting is much better, especially with Auckland house prices!
