Hey guys and gals

just spamming on behalf of BG - check info below and flick him an email if you're interested! Should be an epic day

CHRISTCHURCH & WELLINGTON listen up!

Strength workshops by two IPF world champions!

Myself and Josh Hancott are going to be coming to Christchurch in the 9th of October and Wellington the 11th of October to teach you everything we know and have learnt over our years of lifting and making it to the top of the sport! We are already filling up the Seminar in Auckland on the 10th

If you would seriously attend these seminars we are looking for expressions of interest to see if it would be worth making the trip, we would love to host these days and share what we are hugely passionate about!

Full day Roughly 9 - 5 with a few breaks , $195. Please email brettgibbs_training@hotmail.com to show your interest / or comment below to show interest!

$195 does seem a little steep. Would be better if they halved it to enable youngsters just getting into powerlifting the chance to go and learn .

I think it has to cover the space in the gym they're renting plus all the equipment as the people going will get to lift so basically means normal gym members have less to choose from - unsure if there will be food etc tho but yeah 8 hours hands on rather than few hours for a speaking seminar where they will just explain basics is probs why they will also be covering their own flights from welly - and in Joshs case over seas to do it

How many would be on the course? It's probably going to be a pretty small group, so plenty of individual attention (or so I would imagine).

Also, you're getting these guys for 8 hours from 9-5. You could pay the same amount to a PT, and only get a few hours - and they'd teach you a whole lot less.

Seems quite reasonable to me. But I think it will attract more serious lifters who want to step up and are prepared to invest in that, rather than total newbies.

Lol, people think fixing squat is easy, it's not till you have your technique corrected by an amateur that you realise the worth of paying a professional. Money well spent.

It's funny the attitudes in Aus are so different than NZ. over here in Syndey trainers spend $500 on a 3 hour TRX workshop.

$195 to be tought by the best in the world for s whole day is so cheap it's not funny

Guys in NZ think nothing of dropping $195 on a pair of shoes or supps.

You'll likely benefit far more from this.

I easily spent over a grand on beer and food alone for the privilege of picking a few top lifters brains when I started out.

It's disappointing seeing some guys in the NZ scene who underachieve so spectacularly when they're simply unwilling to spend a little bit to get a coach to help them out.
Realtalk hit me up for help about 2 years ago. Didn't take me for granted, listened, and put 200kg on his total. I simply passed on to him things I learned from other guys and my own trial and error. He'll pass on what he's learned from me to a ton of people, and I hope...actually make some money out of it.

If you've got $195 spare, I'd suggest this could be worthwhile.

Completely misunderstood what I was saying all of you. Of course its good value for an intermediate to advanced lifter. My point is young guys and girls just getting into powerlifting dont have that sort of money. They are who we need to be focusing on to grow powerlifting in new zealand. They are the ones who could benefit probably most. I dont think the classes will be that small that they wont make a good return off. Id expect 15 minimum at least with their popularity. Aussie strength coach looks to pull a good 20+ to some of his classes. But then I guess their is two of them to pay for. I would happily spend that on a good trainer and more for a day with a good coach. And a lot more if I was getting a program out of it.

If I hadn't lived with BG and know all his training knowledge i'd be keen as to go. Well worth the coin as Wookie said. In particular the training session after if you can get in on that would be awesome.

Trying to get them to come train at Juggernaut Barbell whilst being down but I don't think I have enough plates for them.

I'm sure it will be very good. I don't know anything about hancott I don't even know what weight class he is and I havnt met Brett or chatted to him online before but Iv watched some of his YouTube stuff and he speaks really well and has good charisma which is probably one of the most important aspects to a good seminar imo.

Good on him for putting it out there, what a cool way to make money if you could do it for a living like the top guys do and even klokov etc. Just travel round the world competing and doing seminars. Wouldn't that be so cool! Then do online stuff in the spare time, there is money to be made in this shit if you have profile and Brett does have that, everyone who competes in IPF worldwide knows who Brett Gibbs is.

He is one of the people who inspires me to push harder.

You know how high I rate Brett Gibbs lol

Seeing as my coach Thomas Lilley has cancelled his seminar here I would be keen to look at this one instead.

I have watched some of Josh Hancotts videos he is technically brilliant, in particular his Sumo Video's.  So should be a good one.

We should get him to enter our bodyweight squats competition. How many thousand reps do you think he'd do?! :D

Haha already on it bro he says hes like 88! fat kent but if he can rep round 20 reps at 182.5 then Im sure at a 132 he should be good for well over 30, told Josh Tuks to do it too, hes all about that cardio rep life - id hit about 10 in my current condition

had a 2 hour session with wookie and it made a world of difference in my set up / approach, can't imagine what full on days session with brett gibbs would be like but if he anywhere near good coach as wookie, that $195 for full day is so cheap! hard to justify for youngins but anyway you could waste 1-2 yrs in gym fees mucking around trying to fix form between injuries or just get taught how to do it properly and get in to competition

It also makes a world of difference if you're actually willing to learn, like FOTR was.

Sadly you get guys that get even a modicum of success and then they start teaching and quit learning. Most guys with 3-5 years in the gym don't know jack all.
