saw this a while ago, as long as it is 10000% solid and doesnt rattle or anything because of the mechanism, and has no chance of spontaneously lowering under a super heavy load i reckon itd be good to have! prob pricy though

yeah they reckon their prototype has been tested for something like 900 pounds

Thats an awesome idea and using a hydraulic release is good. Hydraulics can always fail maccaz, usually due to the piston seal being damaged/worn or if fluid is lost elsewhere in the system but its pretty unlikely to.

true also if it fails worst case ur gonna drop quick and the bars gonna be on safeties, was thinking if you had no safeties which defeats the point of the whole thing anyway lol
