Athletics doping results leaked

According to the data, a third of the 146 medals won at endurance events at Olympics and World Championships between 2001 and 2012 were won by athletes who recorded suspicious tests. The data also claims that more than 800 [of the 5000] athletes have recorded blood tests described by one of the experts as "highly suggestive of doping or at the very least abnormal".

Now, I guess the devil is in the detail here... These are elite sportspeople, so they are by definition "abnormal". Could that skew the results? I don't know. More likely is that they're all sailing as close to the wind as they can when it comes to their supplementation. So while their performance-enhancing drug of choice may not be banned (yet), it still produces the same results as a drug that is.

You really have to wonder whether the whole "clean competition" concept is an exercise in futility... :???:

I don't want to start a shitstorm etc but let's be honest Pseudo, majority of people with half a clue know clean sports haven't existed for a number of years now, if they think they do they're just kidding themselves.

There are tested sports/divisions and untested sports/divisions.

The levels of testing varies from sport to sport, division to division etc.

If you are clean/can beat the testing then you can compete in the tested comps. Tested does not mean clean by any stretch. Tested means tested to the level that your sport etc deems necessary.

Again governing bodies have discretion over their sports so it's not unheard of that some athletes get favouritism/knowledge of when tests are guna be/positive tests swept under the rug.

It's not what people want to hear but it's the way sports are these days with money/advancements in medicine/athletes competitive nature/consumers continued demand for more records and better athletes.

Not meaning to start arguments etc, just how I see it.

It really depends on which country you are from. Some countries national identities are wrapped up in how well their athletes do at the Olympics and other World class events,so they are more susceptible to turning a blind eye at the very least, or even assisting with steroid regimes.

it may not be 1 in 5 athletes from say..Russia,China or Kenya..it could possibly be higher.

Conversely the ratio may be much lower in countries where theres a higher value placed on being steroid free rather than a win at all costs mentality.

Might be time to consider having a natty Olympics and a free for all take what you like Olympics.

How ever im not too sure how much interest their would be in watching some white guy run an 10.5 sec 100 m in 1 event and winning gold whilst ,theres a superjacked afro american running 8.3 in the other.lol.

How many fast black guys have won the 100 m,or are super duper fast and how many are probably "on".

How many black people have won endurance running events?

Bro,i dont know about you but im seeing a pattern here?Black peeps are faster.lol.

Theres a combination of genetics, the environment that they were raised in and possibly the finishing touch of anabolics?

In fact the only fast white guy i can remember at the olympics spent a lot of time running away from the testers.

Lol watch out with your comments bro, I'm assuming your comment is directed at me and I've never alluded to drug use, Gyzzbrah came before you and learnt that was against the rules the hard way.

Also just FYI I don't think everyone is on, there are plenty of genetic freaks and people who aren't on who are doing really well.

I just think that the use of PEDs are a lot more rampant in majority of sports than a lot of people like to admit.

Cause black guys need drugs to bet the white guy lol probably much the opposite

no,im saying that  top level sprinting is 1 sport where the use of anabolics is rampant.the ethnicity angle is obvious.

they are faster whether they use or not.they probably use to beat each other.

You may be right, and it might be time to make the Olympics a non drug tested event or split the feds into a tested and non tested.

Forgot to quote before lol.

But also aren't you doing the same thing assuming that we're all the juiced power lifters ?

I don't believe you know any of us personally ?

sorry dont know you,im assuming it based on the fact you choose to compete in a non tested fed and if you are steroid free and feel offended, please accept my apology.

Lots of people who use know or know of others who use. If you dont use and are some whiney little 'lifetime natural' IPF guy that tells everyone how natural he is every chance he gets odds are that people wont choose to share this info with you.

Nick Willis has said much the same thing, Boosting...

Apparently, in any given congregation of athletes, the group will automatically separate into those that juice and those that don't. A bit like oil and water, if you'll pardon the metaphor. :P

Personally, I'm not convinced it's that clearcut at all. That doesn't take into account the people who loudly denounce steroids in order to cover the fact that they're using them.

Thanks mate, i almost forgot.

PS i consider stealing from an employer 'profit sharing'. Not really stealing if they make more off your actual work (less their return on capital invested of theirs that you use to do your job of course) than they pay you.

hi again scrawny natty guy back for more whining, firstly i wont be employing you anytime soon, secondly im not the IPF police,if you dont like someone kicking ass and taking names whilst juiced to the gills,go tell someone who cares lol.its not my bother as im too busy freaking out on whether im gonna get stapled..umm also man..life isnt black and white..i understand this.

An oath that you may have taken may be broken either by carelessness or premeditation.

Theres also the aspect that in the future steroids may become legal due to health benefits.Scientific advancements may open up the door to either a loosening of the laws or complete decriminalisation.

What this means in the sporting arena..well you be the judge. However current laws are what they are.

Its all good. Nothing really against you or your perspective. Just giving mine too.

While i highly doubt we will meet or have met i dont think my odds of future (or present) employement by you will have changed at all based on the fact that we both are relatively anonymous.

that was a joke..anyway my point is it may be time to re-analyze the laws regarding steroids and what not as the present system seems to encourage a black market and a lot of sneaking around and deception.

Quite clearly athletes who choose to take them are still going to, whether people like me as well as past and present greats of the sporting arena like it or not.

What the hell ? So because somebody chooses to compete in a fed that's non tested you automatically assume they are using steroids?

no.not everyone who competes in a non tested fed is automatically using steroids.

probably a bunch of reasons why you would choose not to compete with NZPF.

this should be the thread where we throw a name up and everyone else comments on whether they are natty or enhanced based on the accurate art of having a hunch

i think gym rat is not natty

Gymrat is a stimming hard plus I saw a photo of with Sue Betridge the nz bodybuilder which means definitely not natty as he was pretty much touching her.
