good feels in this thread lol. just thinking of the era of the pine pollen guy (what was the dudes name anyway).. i actually remember seeing him later walking around the streets of henderson , dude looks like he belongs in a straight jacket.

also snoopy made for some damn good banter

when the off topic section was like misc but more lulzy

when we got suspended for using funny gifs because sense of humour was misunderstood

and what about the day that it was revealed gymrat = pseudonym? my mind was blown about how it all made sense, the fund-raiser site, the obvious clue of the curling rat in his avatar, the many similarities, site was never the same for me again.

used to have some good old laughs in that thread about gym wierdos

used to be lots more roid rage on here when it was predominately a bodybuilding site, now i guess it's more power lifters by the looks of logs and regular posters, are powerlifters less aggressive online?

all the times gymrat left us but then came back in style, gymrat the movie 1, 2 and 3.. i'm still holdin out for a 4th

I don't want to sound offensive but I don't think this site could claim expert advice.. While there are some extremely knowledgable people on here there are also a lot of people who are not and a beginner will probably have a hard time differentiating the two.

I disagree bro. At least from a powerlifting perspective. 90% of the guys who give information on here i would definately class as experts . I dont think you could find anywhere else around NZ online where you can get the sort of advice from such experienced lifters.  Id put Realtalk, Wookie , Leeroid , Soundsgood, Beastbuilder, up there with the best of them any day for advice. If somebody asks a question on here there will be top class advice. I cant vouch for bodybuilding though because i dont get into it but there are a number of both men and women here who have been around .  They certainly arent going to get terrible advice anyway

Oh absolutely bro of course there are people on here with tonnes of knowledge and experience but I more meant there are also a lot who... Don't. It's up to the reader to differentiate the difference I guess.

In other news... Someone should invite I declare war back to the forum :-)

I think that's true of any forum though, TLAF - it's just the nature of the platform that you will have people of all levels contributing. And that's a good thing. You want everyone to contribute, and not be reliant on a few experts to answer every question. Sure, that means that some answers will be more informed than others, but that's where the more experienced guys then step in and (hopefully) correct anything that needs correcting.

It's like a knowledge food chain - the little guys get helped by the medium guys, who get helped by the bigger guys, and so on. We all fit into this digital ecosystem somewhere. Me, I'm plankton. :D

But it's interesting that the topic has moved onto this subject... because it's something I had been thinking about too. I want to ask you guys a few more questions around this, but so everyone sees them, I'll start a new topic for it. Right after dinner.

I hope I didn't come across negative as that wasn't my intention. Forums get a bad wrap cos people post and a lot of the time we have no idea who the hell they are. This can be dangerous at times as some of the drug advice etc can be a tad alarming lol. Examples.. Snoopy.. Idw.. Etc. Anyway I more meant you can't really put an entire forum under one umbrella. Just my opinion anyway

Not always a good thing pseudo. In the past have been some real idiots posting things in the steroid section for example. People who I know irl look like they don't even lift weights let alone use steroids. But that's the Internet and everyone has and is entitled to their say and that's abit of a problem. Having said that I would never rely purely on forums to educate myself if probably read so I knew what I was asking about then I'd ask then I'd read more and ask more... Too many people who are just gung ho asking questions to others who were gung ho so it's just one big fucking gung ho merry go round. Not everyone needs to post in every single thread if I don't know about something that's asked I don't post. You're not being helpful if you are giving the wrong info your just being more of a problem.
