Hey all

I'm new to this forum thing so be nice ;)

63kg female in open class.

Been training for 18 months, this was the first year I've been competitive but still a long way to go!

Squat 85

Bench 52.5

Deadlift 112.5

Looking to improve my squat and def got more in my deadlift. Bench is a strange one, seem to get stuck with the head more that anything. Was at 47.5 until a month ago then added 5kg all of a sudden

I've got a coach that does all my programming so not hugely sure of the method but found these forums could be a great place to learn and understand what I'm doing!

Hi Shelifts. Welcome to Gymnation and those are some good lifts for your bodyweight. If you're looking to improve on anything than this is the place to be. Quite a few experienced lifters here with a wealth of info. You should start a journal and post your training.

Thanks for the welcome, competing with IPF - Just at had NZPF nationals last Thursday.

Next goals are set for comp in November and then hope to get to commonwealth comp next year.

Yip I'll be sure to ask some questions, pleased to have found this great little community!

Welcome, great to see another lifter

I was at the NZPF Nationals too, helping the CDPA team, and competing yesterday afternoon.

You're right that a lot of lifting is psychological - I think I lost my third bench not from strength but because the brain "gave up" but there's always next time!

I was there yesterday, at the front desk selling t-shirts! Would have def seen you competing.

Awesome, I'm actually moving to Hawkes Bay next year so will be competing with CDPA as well, what an amazingly strong team.

Where are you based?

Looking for a good gym/team to train with so if you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them teamfatboy :)

Lol - we spoke at the comp! Hastings Fitness Centre, corner of Eastbourne and Karamu, is your best choice. Virtually all the Hawkes Bay lifters I know train there, including at least four or five women who competed on the Thursday, like Lisa, Jess, Alice, Loren and Lauren

Lol teamfatboy, what are the chances?! Thanks for the info and advice, looks like Hastings Fitness Centre will be my lifting home of choice when I make the move down.

Thanks for the info too BeastBuilder - great to know! :)
