Pretty amusing. The truth of it is there's not a whole lot of money in supplement shops but they make a great distribution point. The fall of the mass nutrition stores over here in aus should attest to there being pretty tight margins to be made running a supplement retail store. Plus the guys opening them aren't necessarily good at retail.

And the reporter probably got threatening phone calls so he's calling their bluff

You might be right on the reporter getting threatened. For whatever reason they must of had to go through the stories with lawyers and editors with a fine tooth comb to make sure they didn't leave themselves open anywhere, and they didn't.  You'll notice some parts are carefully worded.

It would be interesting to see the financials of some of the main supp companies. Shotgun etc , just to see their annual turnover. Would love even more to see Nutrition Systems though.

Based purely on a conversation I had with them about advertising, I think they're legit - just a small startup that's still trying to get a foothold in the industry, and hasn't totally polished their appearance yet.

Shotgun - owned indirectly by the Warehouse ...the only thing they are selling is over the counter supplements trust me.  T/Over would astound a few people on here.
