Anyone used one of these before?

Or is there a trick to this im missing? My gym has all same size plates so adding/removing 20s is annoying as have to lift up that end of the bar, + the plates are quite tight on the bars so it ends up being a hassle especially 4pps and up, waste energy trying to get plates on/off

in the past i've used bumper plates which are slightly bigger diameter. makes it easy to slip further 20kg plates on. might tell gym boss guy to buy a pair of those.

I just use a small plate like a 1.25 and roll the first plate up onto there.

It's amazing how few people use this trick - yet it's such a good one.

The one benefit the dead wedge would have is the little hollow in the middle stops the barbell from rolling off - but if you're careful with your placement of the 1.25 plate, this is rarely a problem.
