what do u guys think is better in your workout, working up 2 your heavist weight or starting with your heavist weight and dropping back the weight each set.

starting with your heaviest weight is BEGGING to be injured. always warm up.

i normally do a bunch of warmups and 2-3 working sets with heavy weight..

IT depends on what im trying to achive. Generally i start light and work my way up, other time i do the reverse, sometimes start light - go heavy - go light again.

If nothing else its just to mix it up a bit. If im on a cut it will usually be a reverse pyramid.

If I'm pyramiding I prefer to do a light warmup set, then go heavy, then come down. However, I sometimes train with an ex NZ-rep powerlifter who has always pyramided from light to heavy and claims the pump in the muscles from the light sets allows him to lift heavier on the heavy sets, so I suppose it's different horses for different courses.

I usually warm up, go 85% of max, 110% of max, then 100% for two sets.

110% of max?

Sorry looking at what you guys wrote I guess it's just what you'd call pyramiding.

I was basing 100% on completing a full set of 8 reps @ Xkg, where X is where the most I can lift whilst achieving the rep count. So 110% is 1.1Xkg for 3-4 reps, if that makes sense.
