+1 what realtalk said. I feel as though if it were me i would want honest opinions not just ego stroking. Fake compliments and placing better than i would have because everyone better has gone pro takes away from the effort iv put in big time.

Takes a special level of naive to think thats a good thing.

May as well just rock up at 15% bf for the participation medal and pats on the back kind of thing (exageration but yeah)

Aside from Mike kingsnorth everyone has looked poor on the pro stage in recent times.

Mike debenham could have looked ok, but he paid palumbo thousands to screw up his conditioning lol

But isn't that how legends are made? Think of Ronnie!

 

And isn't the definition of "good enough" to be able to beat your opponents? Not "able to beat some of your opponents, provided your top competition isn't there".

 

I do see your point, but I'd hate to think our athletes were being told "Sorry, you've won a comp, now step aside so someone else can have a turn." As an athlete the following year, it would completely take away any sense of achievement I might have in placing first.

 

 

 

Alternatively (and now I'm jumping across to the either side of the fence), there could be an argument to say that the more local pros we have, the better our chances of putting together more pro shows. So eventually we WILL be able to see all our local pros compete on the same stage. Maybe Moe's playing the long game here!

What I am talking about is having a separate competitive pool for the National champions to compete in, NABBA already have this. The winners of National titles compete in an "International" class.

If you are good enough to win a National level competition then you should be capable of competing Internationally and shouldn't we all aspire to be this good! And do remember that the judges do have to ability not to award places to those who should not receive them!
