often especially after squatting heavy my appetite is completely gone out the window for 1-2 hours post workout, i sometimes have a shake or milk but often dont, just wait until appetite comes back and have a mass feed at this point.. seems to be ok

Do you take a pre workout?

In my experience most of the younger 'hard gainers' I know were consistent through the week and then Friday night have a few drinks, then again on Saturday quite a few more, most of the calories there are from alcohol, then on Sunday then spend the morning head in the toilet bowl and don't eat for the rest of the day. The only thing hard is their liver.

exactly

from memory tomleegolf was "hard gainer".. look at him now lol

Well I started off really skinny but I gained real fast. When I first decided to go gym and get bigger, I read everything I could and wrote down everything I ate to make sure I was getting enough calories. I would eat every two hours and stuff myself until I couldn't breathe, and have to try not to puke. I deliberately underestimated my calories so if I calculated 4500 cals for the day, it would be more like 5000. I was obsessed with the thing and my main priority everyday was eating. I gained 10kg in 4 months and 17kg in that first year so no I don't agree with the hardgainer thing.

yeah true bro, guess not hard gainer but what i meant is more like it doesnt matter where you start from/cant blame race for genetics so much or whatever, hard work (training and diet) can get you wherever regardless of starting point

Keeping your coach/trainer a mystery/secret will yeild you better gains.

Why even tell people you are getting help from a coach if dont want to say who it is lol... What point of saying anything at all.

This is a really interesting point. I see 2 reasons for this.

1. They don't want other people they might be competing against using the same coach

2. They're protecting their own pt and or coaching business cos they're worried if people know who their coach is they'll just go to them instead.

Cracks me right up :) fragile peeps these strength athletes. Yes I include bodybuilders as strength athletes.

More amusing are the ones who act like they do everything themselves cos they wanna build their own prep/coach business.
