Hi I've been in tauranga for 2.5 years, I love your beautiful country, I have also been reading the message boards on gymnation and I really enjoy all the training tips and good advice, so I've become a member. ( thanks for having me) I'm 42 and way past my prime but I still like to train and have done for many years.

Hope to join in on the conversations soon.

Thanks all.

42 here as well - still love working out and feeling the burn. Fully agree with you about the good advice and interesting postings on the site.

I would also like to add that the majority of people understand that we have all come from somewhere - had a starting point; may have been morbidly obese, may have never exercised, may only be lifting light weight but improving - but they still help out and don't take the piss or laugh at you.

One of the real positives about bodybuilding is that the longer you invest in training the better you get regardless of your age!

In other words you as an individual can be better at 50 than you were at 30

Too many sports see their competitors peak at 25 then they are over the hill. In bodybuilding you can continue being competitive as you get older...

Thanks for the encouraging words,

I haven't ever competed I just like to train and lift weights. I tend to bulk for 9 months of the year and only cut for the 3 months of summer so I can go to the beach. Ha ha ( I like my food toooooo much)

I train from home in tauranga and don't often get to talk to other gym lovers so that's another reason I joined this site.
