It was a one-off ExpensiveUrine. We have sponsored and run a number of strongman comps in the past. I note you made a comment earlier in the thread that I told you to "f##k off" on the mic at the last show... if I did it was said in good fun in response to you asking to do a pose or something. Don't take offence, I would have said the same to anyone asking me to do that....maybe turn the mic off next time tho eh! :pfft: :pfft: :pfft:

To me personally, nothing really major to complain about - but I hated the way he treated most of the other members, pretending he really didn't need them in the gym and treating them like shit. Seriously lacking people skills. Walks around and hassels everyone, saw him kick someone out who didn't have a towel, saw him kick someone out who wasn't using sleeves on the barbell, etc... Ah, and really let some guy have it for being to close to the mirrors with his weights. It's people skills. All you need to do is ask the members to change and do what he would prefer. not kick them out and treat them like 5 year olds. You would go a long way to find someone who actually likes/respects the guy.

Dale would you kick someone out of your gym for not using a towel?

Hatdropper puts a few things in their quote that all break gym rules which are on 2 large posters in the gym (1 in the cardio area where members first entered the premises and they have 10 very simple rules on them - the first is NO TOWEL NO TRAIN, others include ALWAYS USE COLLARS ON THE BARS and everyone is shown the rules upon joining and asked to read them. Everyone is is told the main rules, in particular using a towel, using collars on all bars and putting their weights away when finished.

Another large poster is in the weights room in clear view of everyone. Excuses for not following simple courtesy, hygiene and safety rules are NIL. Now as adults one would read the rules, follow the rules without being told again and again. Despite this at least 1 warning is given should some members "forget". Some are given more than one depending on the mood I may have been in on the day.

As to "training too close to the mirrors" well to do so they would have to carry dumbbells off the rubber mats or carry barbells into the middle of the Triple Cross machines, thus tying up these pieces of equipment unnecessarily - what to get so close to the mirror they can kiss themselves! Get real, anyone with a proper set of gonads doesn't need a mirror at all to do barbell curls!

So ah YES, if they were so stupid as to cart equipment into ridiculous areas tying up designated areas to do such silly things and had been told before not to do it, well they may well have been given a sterner discussion and treated like a "child" as Hatdropper says. HARDEN UP - stop looking at every mirror and just lift some decent weights! Looking at yourself all day from every angle doesn't build muscle or strength so stay away from the damn mirrors! haha lol :pfft:

no i mean no one asked me to read them or shwoed them to me...?

probably about 8 months ago mayeb a year ago. i joined under yr $15 a week no contract payed my 15 bucks went once and neva went back again.

good gym, meaning good equiptment (just incase u thought i was talking bout u :pfft: )

but was too out of the way for me to come each nite

Dont lie, you found yourself attracted to me and couldn't control your mandesire :pfft: If I was there you were told them and shown them. If Ashley signed you up or Pia or Shona - who knows?? But they are big posters so as Hatdropper said earlier and if its true i.e. "we are all adults" and one would think an adult would be able to read and follow some basic stuff. It isn't like I just think up a rule and change them from day to day and from person to person, just some people always think they are special and the rules don't apply to them so it seems. No different with driving, dont walk on the grass signs, parking in disabled carparks - you name it, there always has to be some who have to be treated like children it appears.

Does this gym support OL?

support wat? lol

2G's maybe you're right, I did think they were pretty basic stuff. Have had other gyms ask for a copy of them as they were short, concise and too the point. Thought by putting them up on big posters I wouldn't and staff wouldn't have to say anything more to any "adult".

What would you do if you owned a gym 2G's, would you ignore the health and safety regulations that require certain practices like using a towel. Would you not care if all the machines were always left loaded with weights so when a lady wants to use it they cant get the 20s off? Would you let anyone come into the gym regardless of clothing or footwear no matter how dirty? Would you let members complain to you about how much someone stinks and then not ask the person to clean up their act, or would you rather lose 3-4 members because of the one? But don't worry, I'll be more chilled out in the future at the new one.

and I second your question, what is OL ExpU?

My guess is olympic lifting.

Of course it does, simple OL = Olympic Lifting! Thanks LK.

OL tends to require a lifting platform EU and/or rubber plates so tends to be best done on a platform with loads of room around you. Best do that at Gillies Ave. Having said that I do remember being hassled for making a clunking noise down at Health & Sports on their lifting platform by staff doing deadlifts. I was just repping out 10s with 270kg on their purpose built OL platform at 8.30pm one night a few years ago, 5 people in the gym at the time. Couldn't believe it, the platforms are built to withstand weights being dropped from head height and all I was doing was touch and go so no louder than a small clunk.

LOL - come on down to Genetics and freak out Dale. All of the above - and we still pack out most evenings! Personally, I just chase down the sucker that left all those plates on - although I'm usually less than polite in my request that he remove them. I live in hope I'll get them "trained" yet!
