Introducing your new moderator

Congratulations, Realtalk!

Tom's been a member of the forum on and off since 2005. And if someone had told me back then I'd be making him a moderator, I'd have laughed in their face. Loudly. Let's just say he's already quite familiar with our moderating system.

But suprisingly, in the 10 years since, he's grown up. And lately, the more he's posted, the more he's shown himself capable of being a really good moderator.

So thanks for joining the mod team, Tom. And well done - you've earned it.

Life goal achieved. Finally getting the respect he always wanted. It's a proud moment in gymnation/nzbb history.

Oh nah not well done or congrats etc I don't want sound like a douche lol. I just spend abit of time on this site. Prefer to contribute here over Facebook and stuff for the reason all you guys know mostly because it's moderated fairly and it's really unbias... It makes me angry having my mild opinions moderated by the owner of the Facebook page/profile if they don't agree with you or it doesn't fit whatever BS they are trying to portray or the BS they believe in.

I havnt started my own Facebook page because everyone alreasy done that and Facebook is just a shambles now it's difficult to accurately follow multiple things without being bombarded with shit.

I havnt started a blog on worldpress or another site because I don't really know what to talk about on a regular basis. I prefer interacting and I believe multiple opinions and views which leads to debate brings out the best information.

So that's why i enjoy this forum and pseudonym asked me to help him so I said yeah sweet... Why not.

Good to see you join the mod team Tom, reflection of the fact that you've always contributed and had valuable experience in the real world with a sprinkling of theory to boot. I wonder how many others have covered the range of "gym sports" you have (bodybuilding, powerlifting, strongman, martial arts)?

You've also managed to temper the way you put things without losing the hard edged opinionated bastard that you are!

One of he things you may enjoy is reading the old mod logs....lol.... I think I saved your ass a few times and on others said "f*ck him he wastes too much mod time" lolol...that's the mod life for ya!

Again awesome to have you on board Mr Realtalk!

I've learnt to never say never. There's hope for all you bastards... But it took Tom 10 years to climb up from where you are now.

Not just you, Nate. I actually think every single mod has been on both sides of that fence at one time or another. There were certainly enough opportunities for it!

So who are the active mods currently? Only Nate, Pseudo and Realtalk now? Seems like there are a lot less mod edits now than when I first joined NZBB which is a good thing.

I think it's been a collective decision over time to mod as little as needed. At one stage when things were getting pretty loose we hit it hard and probably fair to say it was detrimental tho necessary at the time.

I wasn't contributing online at all for months but still checked in daily on forum and mod topics as I know other mods do. Pseudonym can confirm who's modding.
