Estradiol Test

TUCKER

Recommended Posts

I go to Pathlab to do the E2 Test and only get back <200 reading. I need an acurate test to tell me what my E2 test is because I am on Anastrozole. I have read on this forum other people saying that there E2 is pmol/l such and such. I am supposed to be in the range of 73 - 110 pmol/l but how will I know this without an acurate E2 test? Also Is this E2 within a certain range thing a load of crap? Is there anybody out there that has gone from feeling nothing when only on Test, to feeling a lot better with the introduction of an AI to bring there E2 levels down to this range?

Are you sure your test read <200 or >200..?

Remember normal range is for normal? people.. If on supraphysiological doses of Testosterone E2 should be elevated in line with the elevated test..

Just to clarify, are you male or female, Tucker? Your profile pic and email address has me confused. :)

Its Cory Everson an American female bodybuilding champion and actress. She won the Ms Olympia contest six years in a row from 1984 to 1989...

Kinda doubt its her... born 1958 she'd be almost dead.. lol

I thought it might be representative, rather than specifically her. And since the email address was also potentially female (sorry Tucker!) I thought it was worth checking. I figured maybe a competitive female bodybuilder might be interested in controlling their estrogen?

Anyway, that's all cleared up, so... as you were! :D

Hello , yes it was reading <200 pmol/L. I am male and are also on 125mg of Cypionate injection once a week.

Thats a TRT dose, its kinda low for anything other than cruise or hormone replacement therapy... You shouldn't need an AI for such a low dose of testosterone, estrogen is a vital component of healthy bodily function....

So is this estradiol thing for bodybuilders with very high Testosterone levels?

Before I started the Cypionate injections my Total Testosterone level was 5.8 nmol/L.   The following is some of the stuff I have read about Estradiol and TRT.......

If your doctor only prescribes testosterone by itself, you will most likely be in for a rough ride.

The problem with test only regimens is that one of the main metabolites (estrogen), tends to get out of control.

High estrogen negates most of the benefits of TRT, resulting in many of the same symptoms of low testosterone you had in the first place!

Fatigue, impotence, water retention (bloat), depression, and brain fog are all commonly associated with high estrogen.

Arimidex Lowers Estrogen Levels

The solution, is to add an estrogen lowering medication, commonly Arimidex (anastrozole) or Aromasin (exemestane). It's from the class of medications called aromatase inhibitors, which essentially block the conversion of testosterone to estrogen.

It helps by forcing testosterone output to remain high while keeping estrogen levels low.

Yes... E2 is mostly a concern for those on supraphysiological doses of testosterones, when on TRT it shouldn't be a problem, but blood tests should confirm whether or not E2 is within therapeutic range..

One thing of note, the half life of cypionate is somewhere between 4-6 days in most cases, pinning once a week may create a high enough plasma spike of testosterone to induce greater metabolization to DHT and E2... I have heard it suggested to pin half the dose twice a week to keep blood plasma levels more stable...

Keep zinc high to reduce E2...

If you are fat, that won't help matters, as the aromatase enzyme that converts testosterone to E2 is largely found in adipose (fat) tissue... More body fat % more E2....

My test results were the same

Testosterone is a bit low for a youngster....

Yeah I know maybe something to do with the DHT blocker I was taking at the time of the test. Have since stopped taking it and will retest in a month

A 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, reduces the amount of testosterone conversion to DHT if anything you should show slightly higher testosterone because its not been metabolized into DHT....

Yes, it sounds like LabTest is the place to go. We only have Pathlab in the waikato so I will have to go to Auckland to get this test. I have already rung up Pathlab and Labplus asking about a more sensitive estradiol test but they told me there wasn't any such thing but I know this is bullshit. It does sound like though because I don't have very high testosterone I don't need to be on anastrozole anyway.

Yes I have heard aswell that twice a week is better than once a week but that sounds like a pain in the ass. My doctor now let's me inject myself instead of going to see the nurse. I have been using 22 gauge inch and a half but now I will be using 25 gauge 1 inch needles from now on so this will be easier for me.

My doctor who is an expert on testosterone has no time for any of this estradiol within a certain range stuff. When I told him about it he just looked at me and said "thats crap". It is now looking like he is right.
