Fat cells when getting fat.

If you have some one that gains a lot of fat then loses it are they physically going to look the same as the same person that didn't gain a lot of fat?

Apparently, the fat cells increase but what effect does that have on the look on a person?

Thanks

I was of the opinion adipose tissue gains or loses fat content, but when they reach their maximum capacity of fat, they may replicate to allow additional fat storage..

This may cause permanent changes, especially in obese individuals..

@atrollappears.

Sorry, yes what you replied is what I meant to say.

But what do the permanent changes mean exactly?

My only guess from the top of my head is your appetite is permanently increased somewhat?

Is it like people that train when their young keep muscle nuclei or something even when they grow old and stop training.

There was a theory that your body could increase the number of fat cells but once you made extra you were stuck with them. I think that theory has been pretty well laid to rest now. Fat is a dynamic tissue and you can increase and decrease the number of fat cells you have as well as their content.

Oh I missed this change.  Googling not really paying off.

Is is just due to fat cell turnover?  As in, if fat storage utilisation is (locally?) low and it's time to turnover, just clean up and don't bother replicating.
