Why is it on same day as gpc push pull? Seems abit stupid.. I woulda been keen to do both. You guys did this with another comp a while ago too. It's not that hard for everyone to sort their shit out... Now one Comp gonna be good other will be a flop. How I meant to know which one gonna be good and to enter?

We will share calendars with CAPO next year as this is less than ideal for sure.

We don't want lifters to feel like they have to pick and choose.

To be fair to CAPO their original venue closed so they had no choice but to move to another venue.

We had the choice to move our date, not proceed with the comp or just go ahead with it.  There were no other dates free leading up to xmas so we just decided to run it anyway, we have lots of lifters all ready to lift.

No animosity to anyone if they want to do this comp over ours Tom.  Go hard, pull that 320!

Thanks for your comments. We do understand your frustration "Realtalk" from a lifter perspective. We are not always privy to the comp calendars of other federations/organisations so plan our meets based upon making sure adequate time is given for training cycles etc for our lifters.  The Capo NZ comp date of Dec 13th and venue change was advertised prior to the GPC comp date being announced.

But moving forward we are stoked to be lifting at Miada Otahuhu- great venue! This comp is also the final qualifier for lifters to be part of the team going to the Arnold Classic and representing Capo NZ in Melbourne next year! Should be a great event with a some deadlift battles going down. I'm sure whatever comp you decide to lift at you will do well :)

Kk all good. so if someone qualifies in your deadlift Comp for Arnold's they can do the 3 lift at arnolds? Or just the deadlift at arnolds?

If you have only competed in the deadlift comp and were selected to compete in Melbourne you would only be eligible to lift in the Deadlift section at the Arnold Classic.

Just an update to this post....we have been informed by Australia tonight that there will be 3 Lift and Bench Press at this event...so those lifters that use the Deadlift comp as their final qualifier will be eligible to lift in 3 Lift or Bench Press if they are selected for the team
