Post ankle surgery/1st cycle gear advice

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

First time poster, long time reader!

I am 23 and have been lifting for 5 years naturally. Currently sitting at 80kg at 5 10" . I've recently had my first break from training due to a bimalleoloar ankle fracture requiring surgery to stabilise tib and fib 7 weeks ago. It's now rehab time and I am weighing up my options and ways of speeding up recovery.

Prior to the accident I was sitting at 80kg but a completely different shape and body composition as you could imagine. Pb's Deadlift 170kg, Squat 160kg, Bench 110kg. Standard gym junkie diet and use of preworkouts, bcaa's, creatine, blah blah you name it I've probably tried it.

Current diet is rich in proteins, good sources of fats and plenty of leafy greens etc and supplementing with zinc, essential vitamins krill oil etc for post surgery and joint support. Have just started back at the gym on stationary bike, very early stages of rehab. Also running Clen (with taurine) for fat loss and have seen a study where Clen may be benefricial post surgery for orthopaedic patients (Examine.com, Clenbuterol source 17)

It's at this point I'm looking at my AAS options to speed up recovery and help shed some of this fat I've become accustom to over the last couple months haha. I have an above average knowledge on gear but probably below average on hear hence the request for help!

I was consdideing a low dose 12 week 250mg Test E and possible NPP or Deca 200mg cycle

I have read Test doses over 200mg can f*ck with Collagen Synthesis but struggled to find much info to back this up and have read Deca is amazing for joint support.

Any advice or tips would be much appreciated ! :)

As above AAS will only really have significant effects on skeletal muscle recovery time. The nandrolones, deca most often are quoted as good for fixing joints; my opinion is that they don't fix but merely mask issues while cycling.

HGH use might work but an expensive trial! There is a joint specific peptide (TB500?) but I think its more to do with collagen/tendon repair than bone. Best bet is get better then focus on the rebuild!

Thanks for the advice nate225 and Realtalk. Perhaps I should have worded my request better, I know AAS may not greatly help wth recovery, I am looking for a boost in getting back into shape, with limiting the possible negative effects of PED, mainly on the ankle, as I am aware of the standard risks involved.

Thanks for the tip on Nandrolones nate225, hadn't thought of the effects working in that way before but makes sense. I have friends in Aus who have used HGH post op with amazing results but don't think I am prepared to put up the money for the risk of bunk gear in NZ. I will do some more research on Peptides as a friend actually mentioned this to me recently also - GHRP namely.

Point on getting better first definitely taken! Possibly I am being too short sighted here, but I'm sure you can all understand my sitaution and urge to get back into it ASAP (Contemplating AAS is not a new thought for me either, I have been considering it atleast a year prior to injury). Just want to look over all my options as this will likely affect me for the rest of my life.

Cheers mate
