Saw an interesting study and video also that shows the study results of different athletes who had never done gear before and were given placebo steroids. They suprisingly made dramatic increases in strength, even in advanced powerlifters.

On the video I think he's going a bit far connecting acne and placebo. Yes there are aspects of strength that are affected by environmental factors (meet day) just as learning & memory are for example.
