training through hand injury

Recommended Posts

hi all - started training early this year and made good progress with lifting & nutrition, but unfortunately have a tendon injury in my outer hand.  while recovering does anybody know of a gym which has a pec deck with pads, not hand grip..?  i goto les mills in taka but the decks are hand driven... thanks in advance :)

EDIT: looks like Burn in taka has one so nevermind :)

Hey Arcon. I know what you're asking, but honestly I couldn't tell you what type of pec deck my own gym has, let alone any others.

I go to Les Mills Britomart, so I'll check that one tomorrow if I remember. At least you'd be able to train there without paying extra.

I don't suppose you can ignore the handles on your machine, and just press with your forearms on the pec deck arms?

thanks for your reply :)  no i don't think i could quite reach wide enough, and the weight would probably have to be very light to avoid pain from handles pressing on forearms.

i'm also thinking about other upper body exercises i might be able to do... i can work lats with ab straps pull-ups... its a bastard not being able to do biceps & tris, maybe if did cable curls/pushdowns using abstraps on forearms or something lol.
