The film review topic

I've just got back from watching Housebound at the NZ Film Festival. It's brilliant - scarily, hilariously brilliant.

If you haven't heard about Housebound yet, it's a Kiwi film. A kind of genre-crossing comedy-horror. But it doesn't skimp on either one... there's plenty of suspense, and plenty of laughs. And a good amount of gore thrown in. Oh, and plot twists galore. I can't really say much about the story without giving away spoilers, but let's just say it's a ghost murder-mystery with a difference.

Housebound has already had rave reviews overseas. This was the NZ premiere, and judging by tonight's audience, it looks like it'll do just as well here.

I think it's due to be screened nationwide in a month or so. Keep an eye out for it - I highly recommend it!

What films have you guys seen lately?

Saw transformers 4 a couple of weeks ago and thought it was wicked plus it is worth seeing . Other films that I have seen are the million dollar arm based on a true story. Was strange seeing Indians playing baseball  not being raceist compare when I see Indians playing cricket.

Anyone planning on seeing Hercules?

If the trailer is anything to go by, I wouldn't expect sizzling dialogue, or spectacular acting. But Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is looking real lean - certainly leaner than I ever remember seeing him before.

Come on guys, I'm sure I'm not the only one getting tired of this. The joke is getting pretty old now.

If you all put the same amount of energy into starting new topics that you put into chasing Gymrat, this forum would be buzzing.

...And I've just discovered it's screening in Wellington on Saturday. Get in there, Wellingtonians!

Disclaimer: I know the producer, and went along to give feedback on a pre-release version of the movie. On my advice (well, OK, along with a few others) they ditched the entire first scene and jumped straight into the action. Thus the film's success (Sir Peter Jackson calls it "bloody brilliant") is clearly thanks to me. Go see it.
