SBD size help

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys and Girls.

Im about to get some SBD knee sleeves and wondering if any of you have purchased them before. The reason i ask is everyone says the standard fit is a waste of time and to either go for the tight fit or one below.

My knee joint measures in at about 36.5-37 which puts me in a medium for a tight fit, question is should i go small?

I'll only be using for maximal loads really so i want to get the most out of them.

I should also add my calves arent big either.

Big help guys *ok*

I thought the "size down" trick would work but these suckers have NO GIVE what so ever.

The good thing with these guys being NZ is you can always send them back and they will ship out the right size. Took about a week from sending back to getting a new pair, went M-L.

You aren't even squatting 140kg. You don't need knee sleeves.

This is is a fair point but wouldn't using knee sleeves help with joint longiveity and injury prevention .

Perhaps it might be idea to spend some time making your calfs bigger before spending money on sbd knee sleeves

Thanks gymrat, I will stop doing 20sets of squats a week and start doing 6sets. Whilst increasing my calf raises to 20sets a week from 6sets. In your opinion is this the best route?

I knew those calves weren't natty. Why walk when you can ride a bike?

I think you have hit the nail on the head here. Gymrat i looked up to you, i cant believe you would betray me, claiming natty when you cycle.

I went a size down XL to L are they are tight!

Quite tricky to get on, but definitely go a size down. They won't stretch neither.

Sweet will go down a size. Ive heard they are a bitch to put on but i guess thats all part of the fun

He's on his way to getting a Lamborghini. Biggrin

That upgrade ;)

So back on topic, ended up getting the small, probably should have gotten the medium. I can just fit the smalls and they take some effort to put on. But all in all pretty happy

Cheers for the help guys

Do you roll the sleeves from the bottom and the top then pull them up?

Yeah, i roll the bottom up about and inch and then the top down so it meets the bottom rolled up part.

I watched heaps of videos and honestly they are hard to get on but they dont take to long. I think having shaved legs with help one hell of alot though haha
