Best mobile phone?

Those launchers look interesting, thanks Pyro.

I managed to put a new ringtone on it last night. It only took me two hours. After much research (and many dead ends) it seems the process is as follows:

1. Upload MP3 file from computer to Google Drive.
2. Access Google Drive on phone, and download MP3.
3. Download ES File Explorer app.
4. Open ES File Explorer App, open 'Downloads' and copy the MP3 file.
5. Find the 'Ringtones' folder and paste MP3 file in.
6. Go to Settings > Ringtones, and select your new MP3.
7. Go to bed, because by now it's 2am.

It's utterly ridiculous. WHY have Google made this so hard?

I think I'm going to like this phone once it's all set up, but fuck me, I hate it in the meantime!

If you had a gmail account attached to your old HTC, you can import all your contacts from your HTC to your gmail account for backup, then you can import them onto your nexus.

Adding your facebook account under settings will import all your facebook contacts into your phone directory as well. If not there is a setting to do it, which i cant remember how, since I havent got mine imported.

Apps I havent got anything special

-Advanced Task manager - to shut down any unwanted background apps running

-Pandora - Music app, put in one of your fav artists/groups and it will stream similar genres

-Shazam - Music listener / finder app

-Banking app - Banking shit

-Viber - Chat messenger similar to skype

-Whatsapp - Chat messenger similar to skype

-Facebook

-Flashlight

-IMDB

-Evernote - Small easy note app

-Sky TV app

-Trademe

Then various games.

You can easily grab some themes to change the look.

Check out this video.

And have you figured out what OK google is yet?

List of various commands that can be used.

What about tinder? I love tinder

Just because I know you're all breathlessly waiting to hear the next installment in my new-phone story...

I fixed the problem with unwanted contacts from old address books showing up. I simply archived them on my local computer, and took them off the Exchange server. Voila - no more annoying ex-contacts on my phone. This was probably a much more "correct" approach than trying to filter them out on the phone, anyway.

I installed the Contacts+ and Dialer+ apps. Not only does this make my contacts and dialer look nicer, it has more functionality and syncronises with Facebook too.

Oh, and I rediscovered Drizzt's bro's interval timer app... very clean and simple. Nice.

So now I think I'm finally ready to start enjoying this phone. Phew!
