Online coach help?

Recommended Posts

Anyone know of any good coaches online? I've used two so far and they've both been useless..haven't gained much if at all from using either of them and getting fucking fed up tbh.

Stats are 5'9, 68.5kg and probably 15% BF

I've found that i can get super lean around 64kg, but as soon as i go over 66kg i'll just pack on so much fat its ridiculous, and neither of my coaches have been able to help me out with this, they just keep upping my cals each week which is leading to more fat gain.

425C/80F/180P is the macro split im on atm

Anyway if anyone can help me out that would be great

Cheers

oh bro any type of help tbh, its just that working with PTs usually is like 60-70 bucks a week, pretty out of my budget range

trying to bulk up as much as i can then cut down for summer..thing is i've tried this so many times and the same shit happens..just put on so much fat reletive to the amount of lean mass i put on, so i decided to hire a coach to tweak macros etc (assuming they know what theyre doing) and the same shit still happens

Why do you want online help? It's shit.

what you want to achieve?

Online coaches on fb and social media who have abs and charge $30 for meal plans have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. The websites just spit out your meal plan based on your information you have entered about yourself and the foods. Then the program generates the meal plan relative and appropriate to an estimate of the calories and macros you will need. Or if they are starting out they will just do it on a calorie calculator and work out the foods for you.

why can't you do that???

Don't worry bout the scales, just train hard and heavy. Put on bit of fat if need be, don't be afraid of that.

yeah thats what i was doing man, so basically i was working out my own cals etc based on what the internet gave me..which never really worked in terms of lean gains. so i decided to get coaches to help, and they did the same.. - you're right, its a waste of time ae.

also, how do you know when its time to start cutting? knowing my luck i'll be at some stupid point like 70kg @ 20% you know? so when would i know its time to lean out?

Imo eat maintenance calories or just above and focus on training for strength and size. Focus on technique and increasing numbers/weights on squats, deadlift, bench, Bent rows, shoulderpresses. If you're gaining strength and working on your compounds you'll be heading in the right direction. Of course isolation etc all you want too.

This way you should stay at a similar body fat (maybe even look leaner) and be able to make solid muscle gains.

If you're natty then muscle gains are mostly slow slow slow no matter how much of a surplus you are in. You can see this when you look at the progress of natty competetors year to year - thats a whole year of muscle growth plus it was off the back of a rebound from the last show. Its slow. You have to be committed.

Sounds like you think that you should be gaining 1kg of muscle a month. If you're natural and doing everything right (diet, training, recovery) you will be lucky to gain 4 or 5kgs of actual muscle (not including fat/water gain) in one year. It's a slow process.
