This week 10 years ago, a test version of NZBodybuilding.co.nz went online for the very first time. A decade later, and the community is still going - although now, of course, we're known as Gymnation.

This calls for celebration! The question is, how? I've got a few thoughts in mind, but I'm keen to see your suggestions too.

Things to consider:

  • We're an online community, with members all over NZ. Whatever we do, it should happen online so everyone can do it. Not just JAFAs or Wellingtonians.
  • Let's not rack up a huge bill. My credit card's maxed out on Gymnation development, and there's more of that to come.
  • It would be awesome if we can reconnect with some of our old members, and see what they're up to now. It's also an opportunity to attract new friends.
  • The date we "officially" went live with the site was early June. So let's plan our festivities around that time.

 

Man, it's hard to believe this community is 10 years old. Massive thanks to you all for being part of it.

Cool .I thought of a few good ideas are

1 the best dress male member for the past ten years

2 the best dress female member for the past ten years

3 a function of someshort like when I am in Aucks for the Pan's 

4 I could be be the gusest of hourer since I am a good looking filmstar 

5 Perhaps a group photo at Sky Tower 

6 random spot prizes from NZ muscle

Whatever we do, it should happen online so everyone can do it.

...so I was thinking more along the lines of competitions.

Here's a few thought-starters...

- Before/After photos. Find early photos of members - where are they now?

- Most memorable moments in the last 10 years. Best quotes, etc.

- Make a short movie out of members' photos and lifting videos. Post it up on Facebook, and get everyone to tag themselves. Who's got the best video editing skills?

 

 

Get a heap of Gymnation T-shirts screen printed with each individuals user name on the back.

Funny you should say that... I'm actually getting a bunch of shirts made up. I like the idea of printing the names on the back too. The only issue might be getting each one done individually could be expensive, but I'll check it out.

dude, nzbb is basically a big website specially to worship the GYMRAT so it only makes sense that we have the party at his place what does everyone reckon?

 

gymrat when you are in auckland hitme up man would be good to have a training session with you and yell out your new phrase!

 

 

also 10 yrs man... thats massive. only been part of it for the past couple years and it's been an honour. learnt so much, met many great people. no suggestions at this stage of a celebration idea but got some time to think on it

Question for you guys who do you hail on this site?.Wow I cant bealive I have been six years on this fourm.Some of the famous Gym Rat phrase from the past are feeling the burn in my ass,I need a zimmer frame and the famous phrase GYM RAT BABY
