The prices of these shows are absolutely ridiculous. If you want to go and support someone at both shows you need to fork out around $60! There should be a discount for attending both shows as it's mostly athlete's family, coaches, etc. it's not really the price as $60 isn't huge but if you go to a few shows a year, can't help but feel a bit ripped.

Agreed.

I guess Moe pays and arm and a leg to get these guest posers over...

That's funny you guys talk about having to pay $60 and it being a rip off, I was just at fitx and the amateurs and pro qualifiers was $30 and it was admission toi the fitness expo, then an extra $150 to walk across to Plenary hall to watch the pros.

Never mind all the amateur competitors who took part in fitx event paid $300 for the pleasure of being rushed through comparisons and still had to pay the extra to watch the pros..

I think when the guys sign contracts in order to entice them Moe has to pay for them to come and set them up and pick ups and drop offs etc etc etc $60 isn't that bad. I guess it just depends on how invested you are in wanting to see the pro line up.

I also don't see what the fuss is about with you guys saying that sixty dollars for  a ticket  to the pro show being a rip off.Personaly 60 dollars for  a ticket to the pro show in NZ is good vaule for money in book. With Moe paying for the pro's to come to NZ and  a ranging there pick ups, accomadtion, drop offs etc.Plus what Moe is doing by bring the pro's over and own Pro's as well that's a great way to put NZ on world stage.

I went along to the prejudging this morning... it was a good show. Unfortunately it turns out the pros were only on at the evening show. I hadn't realised that, and listening to the people sitting behind me, neither had they. In retrospect, I suppose it's not surprising that the pros might skip the prejudging, but I feel that could have been made clearer. So that was a bit disappointing.

That aside, the competitors I did see were of very high calibre, despite being amateurs. Android and Optimass were both competing in the big boys' class, and both looked very impressive. On another day, either of them could have won quite convincingly. You guys both did yourselves proud.

And then Sam Mohammad walked on stage. ...Wow! I'll let the photos tell the rest of the story! :D

Went to morning and night. Met Jose, Evan and Salah and got to see people change from morning to night (I love seeing how people change in the space of 8-12 hours). Not a rip off, its 60 bucks. That's srsly f*ck all considering you get to see people who have competed and placed well at the Olympia!

That photo of Haley Freeman amazes me with her jumping and doing the splits in mid air.I would have to agree that's cheap plus you get see people up close and live in person who have placed well at the Olympia.Dose anyone have photos from the night show?

It's more the little regional shows that are a rip off than these pro shows where moe manages to get some of the pros over. I just think they should make it a bit cheaper for people going to both pre judging and the night show. Fitx sounds like an absolute rip. I heard from people over in Aussie that it was shit too. 150 bucks to go see swift? Lol.

anyone got pics from the 212? Nor should also invest in a good photographer to take videos and pics, Shaun poh looks like a good candidate.

Yeah, I think for a show like this one, where they are offering more (ie, pros) it's perfectly justified to charge more. Whether it's value for money just depends on how badly you want to see the pros, I guess.

I remember, not that long ago, people were grizzling that we never get pros coming down here to do shows. So regardless of the price, I think the most important point here is that the NZIFBB have managed to do it - and hats off to them for that.

I just think they should make it a bit cheaper [in the regional shows] for people going to both pre judging and the night show.

I agree with you, and that's partly why I'm a fan of the one-show format. But that's a whole other topic!

Speaking of Sam M saw on Go Figure twitter page that he got his pro card last night.I am also going to take my hat off to the NZIFBB for bring the pro's to NZ and that's a awesome and great job for the NZIFBB for doing that.

What camera do you have Pseud? Whenever I take photos at a show they are cake as quality.

Just a Panasonic GH2 with standard kit lens. I'm not a pro photographer by any means, but after 10 years of this, I've finally worked out how to make my pics look less shit.

- Sit as close as you can get while still fittting a long line-up into frame. The more you have to zoom, the less light makes it through the camera.

- Use a high ISO rating. These were all taken on ISO 800. That means you can use a faster shutter speed. (You'll see I hadn't got this right for the Fitness girls, which contributed to their motion blur - artistic perhaps, but I'd have preferred a nice sharp shot)

- Set it on manual focus in the middle of the lineup so your camera doesn't need to piss around trying to focus each shot.

I think that's pretty much all my secrets.
