a question for the fit mums

So ladies how long did it take to get your bodies back after baby?

Im planning a pregnancy this year and trying to get into really good shape before hand so I "bounce" back quicker. And Ive done some googling and there a whole bunch of super fit moms out there in internet land that have their abs back 6 months post. And theres also a tonne of people who dont "bonce back"

I know it really depends on the individual but if its not too personal id love to hear some experiences...

I had my son 7 months ago and I am almost back to my pre-baby size. I was pretty tiny 6-8 and I'm about a size 8 at the moment, my legs are the last place I lose fat and I cant fit all my pre baby jeans yet. I started working out when my son was 5 weeks old, I gained way too much weight though as I was on bedrest from 25 weeks. If I could do it all again I'd watch what I ate more instead of giving in to all my cravings... :)

Hmmmm I think it is a matter of careful management of nutrition both pre and post delivery. You can never really plan what a pregancy will throw at you, so it does not pay to get too set in your plans. Babies have a way of disrupting everything you thought you might do.

Breast feeding is the best thing for baby definitely, however it may or may not help with post baby weight, unfortunately never helped for me.

I honestly gained like no weight until I was about 25 weeks pregnant and didn't start showing until I was 28-30 weeks pregnant, my abdominal wall was quite tight and I carried really internally apparently. but then 12 weeks of bed rest and cravings for apple pies... all caught up on me. But 2 days after I had my son I didn't look like I'd had a baby (just chubby) and now people can't even believe I have a kid.
I didn't breast feed, due to my son having allergies and has to be on special formula. So I found I was able to diet and exercise, I had no complications during my delivery and no tearing.

I def think if you can be in great shape prior to getting pregnant, try and keep fit during whilst eating pretty well I think you should be ok. But every body is different, literally.
