Endo Cost

Recommended Posts

Ok so I saw my doc today and he refered me to an Endo I don't want to wait ages so does anyone have any idea how much they would cost privately? Blood work results below

Testosterone 6.5 nmol/L or 187 ng/dl  Ref Range (8 to 38)

LH 2.1 IU/L Ref range (2 to 9)

17b oestradiol 57 pmol/L Ref range (<160)

Total PSA (Rouche) ug/L 0.5 Ref range (<4.0)

It was probably about 8 years ago, so I really can't remember the numbers. Just that it hurt! Maybe something like $300-400 for the first consult?

If you need to see them, then you need to see them, and cost shouldn't be a big consideration. But if it's not critically urgent, and you can get it done publicly, I'd do that.

i saw a bloke in epsom, 380 for first consult and 180 for the follow ups.

have your doctor order fresh blood work 3-4 days before so you are talking curent numbers when you see him. no sense in letting them get away with the follow up on the pretext of having to go away and come back with a fresh blood test.

head scans are not cheap in the viscinity of 1.2k if you go private or you can wait 2 months for an opening in the public schedule - funny thing is its the same machine regardless you just get to jump the queue if you go private (pay tons of cash)

all i can say is "thank god for medical insurance"  :)

We'll I will see the Endo privately at first and see if it's going to need lots of follow up or an MRI I will just have to join the que if that's the case. The doc asked me to get more bloods done today so I will probably have to go and see him again in a few days. I will keep this updated or maybe make a new post to show others how I have got on with TRT and my low test levels.

holy crap at those prices no wonder people just 'self medicate'

yeah theres a heathy margin on those legit drugs

eg. one could produce a vial of test cyp for under 10 bucks charge 20 and make 100% mark up. pharmac pays something like 87 bucks for a vial of the same

A single one use vial of 250mg Testosterone costs 12 pence ($0.24c) in Pakistan...

I have to say that I'm not impressed with the attitudes of the endocrinologist here in nz, they appear to be very unsympathetic to our needs so I can empathize with you Silver fern.

Your levels are not good and you will pay hundreds of dollars only to be told to go home and wait 3 to 6 months to see if your levels stabilize, easy for them to say as they are not the ones suffering. If you are not already then you soon will be, you will be very lethargic unable to train for more than 10 mins and severe joint pain for 2 days after an attempted session.

Sounds like you need a few weeks on hcg (pregnyl @ 500iu/day) 5 days a week with 25mg/day of clomid. Aromatase Inhibitor (Aromasin) for about 2 months followed by some Follistim. A good alternative would be Ovidrel as it contains LH FSH and TSH but at a crazy expensive price.

The bad news is that you won't find anyone who will give it to you.

Let me know how you get on.
