GYMNATION / MUSCLE FUEL BODYWEIGHT CHALLENGE

Hi Soundsgood thank you for comments. Should not scare anyone away so many much more experienced lifters than me around. Aylmer has been great training me and much of the credit goes to him.

Where did you get to see me competing last year? I have never competed in powerlifting before just looked on from the side lines. And now at my age seems pointless getting involved in a sport where so many others have invested alot more time and effort.

<with apologies for the thread-jack.

Congrats on the win, Rebel !

Purely my 2c worth, but it's never too late to get into powerlifting.  I started at 49, after years of cycling/ running/ general gym-rat stuff... and wish I'd started sooner, 'cos it's a blast.

There are many strong women, not just juniors like Ashley, but Open, M1 (40-49), M2 (50-59) (in NZPF) and in GPC as well.

Congrats again.

How did you know I was a junior??

Congrats to everyone that won Smile

tough competition, I hate high rep work so it was a real mental challenge for me!

'Cos I was at the same comps in Christchurch and Auckland, competing :)

and you' right, high reps suck.

It's interesting that there were so many of you all within a few reps of each other at the top. Do you think there's a technical reason for that, or is it just coincidence?

It definitely shows Soundsgood's rule that women use 75% of their bodyweight was spot on. In fact, we could actually have had the women compete against the men.

No apologies needed I appreciate your input, I will have to think about it, perhaps another couple of friendly challenges on Gymnation will convince me.

I have a couple of competitions lined up for later this year so have a plan in place at moment but afer that maybe....

Perhaps I may see you in Wellington in October.

I can't PM yet because I don't think I've been a member long enough or haven't posted enough messages so I can't send you my details just yet

No worries - either make a couple more posts (you need 5 to PM) or email me on admin@gymnation.co.nz

  • 2 weeks later...

Tshirts are coming, as I'm sure the Kiwistrength prizes will be too. Sorry about the delay - there's just a number of links in the chain of communication here (waiting for all the winners' details -> passed on to Soundsgood -> passed on to me -> passed on to sponsors).
