Buying bulk pre-made meals

Would be awesome if you have the money to do as takes out all the hassle of buying ingredients and preparing. Also one less thing to worry about when trying to make gains/losses. Would be good for cutting down cheating/snacking etc if they are supplying the majority of your diet leaves little room for error and at least you know how much you'll be spending on food pw.

When you buy muscle fuel etc you're getting frozen/fresh containers of food... It would be almost as easy though to do it yourself like they would - Takes around 2 hours say on a Sunday to BBQ all meat and cook carbs and veggies for the week and split into containers, some for the fridge and some for the freezer which could save almost as much cooking time and way more money.

If you want to cut out cooking altogether then Muscle fuel woudl be the way to go. You could at least try it as you don't have to committ to it long term or anything as far as I know. And it might show you how they organise it all which might help you do a similar thing yourself in the future. Basically nothing to lose trying it...

Highly recommend Muscle Fuel, been ordering their yummy meals for a while now. Perfect to whack in the microwave. Consistent portions with nutritional break down on each pack so good for keeping track of things. Totally worth it although if you live far away from the tron the courier costs do add a significant amount of each meal, but I don't mind, for the convenience and the taste, they are worth it.

Have ve not tried the others yet although I have enquired but they don't seem as set up and streamlined as MF as my enquiries were hit n miss

You can't even make a proper comparison since the food from the meals are precooked and food from the supermarket is raw.

Hey every one.  Without sounding too much like an advertorial I'll break down Muscle Fuel for you guys.

Muscle Fuel makes pre made performance meal's with lean cuts of meat, quality carbs and fresh top grade vege.  Professional chefs make the nutritionist approved meals fresh and then blast freeze them in a state of the art blast freezer which ensures the meals come back to life with all their flavour intact.  We don't use lots of flavouring, preservatives, additional crap you see in most other meals.

We have 3 different menu's to suit many different meal plans and can also customise meals to suit your diet.  Quite often a nutritionist will just hand over their clients meal plan and we will make it exactly to suit.

The 3 different menu's are

MAXI - 200g meat, 200g carb, 100 greens (eg Steak and Kumara, Chicken Thigh and Pumpkin)

LITE - 100g meat, 100g carb, 100g greens (eg Chicken Breast and Rice, Fish and Kumara)

EMPIRE - Classic meals made as healthy as possible (eg Chicken breast + Wholemeal pasta + tomato paste, Roast Lamb + Kumara Rosti's)

Most of the meals are also available with Halal meat too.

The weight of the meat is cooked weight, trimmed of all the fat.  If you trim rump steak you generally lose 15% easy just in fat.  Then when you cook it you will lose another 10-15%.  The carbs and vege are all fresh produce too.  I assure you that even if you discount the cost of the containers, labels, time taken to go shopping, looking for discounts, gas to supermarket, time and power to cook etc is not even taken into consideration, the meals are quite well priced.  It makes dieting so ridiculously easy.

We only pass our shipping costs on, in fact we even absorb some of them.  Logistically distributing a polystyrene bin of frozen food is not the the cheapest thing to do but we are definately working on solutions and tweaking as we go.  A distrubution centre in the south island is on the cards so this will bring costs down considerably.

Quite a few of you guys have already ordered, thanks heaps for your support.  Your feedback has helped us continue to improve the product.

If anyone from gymnation puts an order in before xmas we will send them a free muscle fuel stringer.  Just comment 'soundsgood stringer' in the comments when you order and tell us your size.

Check us out online www.musclefuel.co.nz

All the meals and their macros are listed on the site.  The meals also have all their macro's listed on them too.

I hope that doesn't break any forum rules Pseudynom.  If it does, flick me an invoice lol

Oh and Dinahlady don't get me started on web development companies.  I am onto my 4th web company as the first 3 promised so much and delivered so little.   The new website is in beta stage and almost ready to be launch (its awesome too!) but obviously google optimisation is right at the top of the todo list at the moment :)
