Hey people. I found out about this website yesterday and signed up as soon as I could :P I'm a 15 year old guy, I have started working out around 2.5 months ago. Before I decided to change my life  I was on the chubby side, weighing 83 kgs with a height of 170cm. Then I dropped to 71kgs and got taller too (around 176 cm ).Now I have upped my calory intake and proceeding to gain weight, I put on like 3 kgs but I dont know how much of that is muscle/water/fat.

I have been self teaching through the internet and such since I started. My first 2 months were more of me just getting used to the atmosphere of the gym and I did not follow a program. For the past month or so I have been going pretty hardcore with my workouts as well as my diet and rest, made a little program for myself from the stuff I read on the internet. I try to eat around 6-7 meals everyday. Eating is probably the hardest part for me right now, coming from a person who ate 2-3 meals a day but Im getting there through determination :) I will post my workout routine in another thread later on just so you guys could comment on it and give me advice.

So that's all from me, I plan to be an active member to this website, contributing in any way I can. Looking forward to meeting you all ;)

Welcome! I would do what suits you best. If you prefer 6-7 meals that's fine; If you want to take all your calories in 2-3 meals go down that route. Remember at the end of the day it's simple. Hit your Macros, Be in a Calorie Surplus to gain muscle or Be in a Calorie Defict to loose Body fat.

Simple :)

Hi Gymaholic!

The first thing you'll learn about this game is that there's always a new theory on what works. Two or three years ago, if you came on here, everyone (myself included) would have said that you MUST eat every 3 hours or you'll start losing muscle. The posts above show how much gym "knowledge" has changed in just the last few years.

That's not to say that either method is right or wrong - they'll both work, it's just a matter of finding out which one works best for you. If you're just starting out, and you're on 6 meals a day, I suggest you keep doing that for a while. It'll teach you good discipline if nothing else.

I guess what I'm saying is... have an open mind, try new things, but be cynical too. Be prepared that what you know as "fact" today will be rubbished tomorrow!

Stick around and ask lots of questions. :)

Thanks guys!

Pseudonym, I totally agree with your point, I mean theres a ton of information out there nowadays with how accessible everything is thanks to our technology. I guess I'll just keep going what Im doing right now. The worst decision is better than no decision at all.
