Finding Rubber Mats

I'm relatively new to the gym world. I've always played heaps of sports and have been going to the gym 6 days a week for the past 8-10 months.

 

I want to build a weightlifting platform for my garage, I know its only a matter of time before I damage my floor. I can't find rubber mats for a decent price anywhere. I've emailed some horse trailer places but come back with nothing. In america you can get a 6 by 4 ft mat for $50! 

 

Has anyone been able to find anything here?

no1fitness seems to have a big-ish 'mat' type thing which they say is designed to protect floor from fitness equipment such as treadmills and stuff. not sure how much weight those will support but they have a branch in auckland you could check them out there $39 each

otherwise there's the more durable looking rubber floor tiles though very small 500mmx500mm for $29 each. shouldn't need more than 2 though to begin with ? unless doing olympic lifts and dropping bar from high up lol

looks like other option on the site is the 'crossfit' mat whichi s 15mm thick and 1mx1m at $50

Yeah, I've bought most of my equipment from there. I'm trying to build myself an olympic weightlifting platform. I do tend to be quite rough on my stuff and I do want to start trying those olympic lifts with a little more weight, and a single mat isn't really gonna do it for me, given what would happen if I lost control of the weight.

this stuff is sweet, 15mm and abit cheaper than the no1 stuff, I will be using it when i build soon, 2 layers on top of a 20mm ply base your floor will be safe
