Just found these powerlifting records  for everyone to refresh there memories, and some of them still unbeaten here in N.Z. ..farout Cathy,Derek and Tonka are just hulks lol......

Yeah thats a bit of a trip down memory lane. I was at the comps when alot of those records were broken... Cathy,Frank Boulgarus, Kevin Judson, Tonka (Rueben) as I either had clients competing or was just there supporting friends.Check out Precious Mckenzies total.... over 10 times bodyweight!! :-O

Yep, true legends of the sport *clapping* Not entirely sure on the numbers, but Derek competed at 12 or 13 World Championships and placed in the top 3 I think 8 times? He was World Champ 95-97.

Tonka is an enormous human being, 6'1, 160kg and damn solid. Not often you see someone that heavy where their chest comes out further than their belly haha. It clicked to me just how big he was one day at a comp when he stood next to one of The Powerhouse guys, Costa, on the podium. Costa is pretty big in his own right, and when they stood next to each other my first thought was 'Holy shit, Costa looks TINY!' :-O

Yeah Tonka is huge allright. I was at the comp in 2006 when he benched the 305. Hes such a nice guy as well. Hes helped me out alot with powerlifting clients in the past. Derek is probably one of NZs greatest atheletes ever with what he has achieved in the sport.
