Palumboism??

OMFG cracked up so hard at the guy next to Alexey Lesukov being compared to that toy LMAO!!!!

Some really dismorphed physiques that these guys develop. I wonder what the theory is behind the look that these guys get. There must be a physiological reason, the guys that competed in the 70s and 80s never turned into Palumbos? The gut can be explained with GH/insulin but the disfigured muscles? What would be causing that? It's like the muscle bellies have broken down and lost their structure.

Read a few different forums on this and the general consensus seems to be that huge amounts of GH slin abuse are what causes it. Guys internal organs getting so big that when they diet down for comp, they are losing a lot of muscle size but still have the huge organs, giving that ugly fridge block look.

Wow, interesting take on it. I'm not sure about his theory that GH is producing longer limbs, though. Once the bones' growth plates have been closed, I thought not even GH could cause them to start growing again? Thickening, sure, but not growing.

I'm with him on the massive amounts of food causing bulging tummies though. I was actually just thinking about this recently in relation to intermittent fasting, and whether the massive feed at the end of the day would stretch the gut over time.

I thought the same thing Pseudonym, surely bones can't grow once growth plates are sealed. I have heard that some bones like the jaw and in the feet and hands can continue to grow though.

Heavy training and large amounts of growth hormone does sound like it would grow the joints and tendons.

As for intermittent fasting stretching your stomach it would depend on how much is a massive feed these guys are eating 12,000+ calories a day most likely. Would be a massive volume of food.

No disrespect but people who follow IF diets mostly have FB fan pages and are lucky if they weigh over 85kg. The amount if calories they consume is hardly going to cause this protruding stomach.

also calories, although an indication isn't an exact/accurate indication of food volumes... Someone could consume 5000cal per day and another 3000cal per day. The person consuming 3000 calories may actually be eating bigger volumes of food.

It's kind of interesting and rather scarey!

In studies of medically administered amounts of GH I'm sure most people's bones don't grow but we're talking about very large doses that would probably never be given to humans in a study - alongside other bbing drugs aswell with insane weights and food - so who knows what's possible?

I mean normal people can get things like bone spurs from injury/strain thats pretty common so who knows what your bones do in response when you're on all that kind of stuff w/weights.

Longer bones does sound like a bit of a long shot though - Could be nerve damage over time? or some hormonal reaction to hormones themselves over time?
