Haha sams here gym rat. My legs are like jelly from this mornings squat session. Do you pre exhaust your legs before you start squatting too?

I pre exhaust my legs after doing squats which is good way to go plus it helps pump more blood into the muscle

I pre exhaust legs with lunges before squatting. Do both back and front squats in a leg day. Followed by more lunges and step ups as s finisher to really murder my legs.

Squats are a mix of heavy days, high volume and pyramid sets to keep the body guessing.

Followed by a bloody good nights sleep as im usually suffering jelly legs after like this morning

One of the best workouts I've ever done for legs was one set of 20 reps at 140kgs. Felt sick for an hour afterwards and was sore for a few days.

yea what leeroid said 140kg for 20 is a killer

also huge drop sets on things like squats, leg press and extensions will have anyone limping about.

one of the hardest workouts ive done with legs.... sets of 100 reps

Leg extensions - 1 set

100 rep leg extension drop set, start from heaviest weight go until failure keep dropping weight until you reach 100 reps

Leg press - 1 set

100 rep leg press drop set, start from your heaviest weight and go to failure and keep dropping plates until you get to 100 reps, pretty simple but an absolute killer.

hack squats- 1 set

the same as the above principles....

i was actually in shock after this workout, have only attempted it once, took 45min, had DOMS for days, limping like i had been raped and yeag.... you get the picture lolol

I get the picture. Sounds tough.I've done something very similar with my trainer. DOMS lasted days as well. Pyramid sets is another i find a challenge by increasing the weight in 10kg increments in each set till i can no longer hit 12 reps at a heavy weight then drop setting back down in 10kg drops to my starting weight. Gives a good mix of heavy and volume and legs are fried after that. Doing that workout made me feel sick
