Hi all, total newbie here!

Hi, I decided this year that I would enter my first fitness competition but every time I get in to a rythem at the gym, I get injured which sets me back. Also I am allergic to certain chemicals making it hard to find supplements and whey/protein which agrees with me, so I'm not making any progress. It's all so confusing out there! Help!

Good nutrition is paramount to avoiding injuries!

Make sure you're getting enough calories, carbohydrates and protein to recover - You may want to "shape up" but in the long run its better for your body composition to make sure your body can recover from workouts and previous injuries rather than risking injuries then having to have time off the gym!

As well as that, like FOTR says - stretching and good form are key - try and work in a stretching into your workout routine!

Maybe there is a stretching type class at your gym you could start going to? stretching is also amazing for stress releif, digestive and immune system all of which can play a part in food intolerances :)
