just a thought for the nzpf guys, maybe better check in with the higher powers, before doing this, as it is a comp/gym lift kind of thing and with the new bylaw they could take action.

just poped into my head as i was cleaning out old mail and found a 3 page letter telling me off for doing a gym lift last year with out there concent

also good call by drittz about just doing it as gym lifts, just keeps it more in the sprite of the comp i reckon

Yeah, ok. After re-reading my suggested rules, and Drizzt's comments, I think it's all just getting too complicated.

So the powerlifting categories will just be gym lifts only.

Sorry to those who were hoping to use a NZPF/CAPO competition as an entry. But hey, winning nearly $1,500 in protein is worth a bit of extra effort!

  • 2 weeks later...

Here's the vid from the weekend:  registered weigh in 116.7kg

Squat wrapped so doesnt count -

Deadlift 300kg / Wilks 173.64

Bench 185 / Wilks 107.08

........

More to come - going to let my leg recover next few weeks and submit a full raw squat.  Will bump the Bench too ... was a bit off as I think I didnt load enough the morning of the comp.  Will be testing Deadlift again too :)

Thought this may get things rolling.  (Dan Holiday hit an 800kg total this weekend at NZPF Nationals) Will have a chat to him about posting vids and wilks.  Will be a good one.

Hey Optimass awesome lifts bro hope to hit 300 deadlift in 6 months time.

I thought the lifts could only be gym lifts and that you had to show your weight on the scale and then go do your lift after weighing yourself, or unless rules have changed.

Do you know the guy that was spotting you on the right side in the red shirt Kaleb Kolevski ,i just want to know if he bbeat the N.Z record on the benchpress for the under 90 or 80kg i think the record was set at either 165 or 167.5kg for that weight class.

You're right, Major-flavaz... But that's an excellent curtain-raiser, Opti! :D

I was at that Melbourne Fitx aswell part of the n.z team for the armwrestling that was there, that was the best event iv ever been to i didnt even get to see the powerlifting as i was helping run the ozzy armwrestling store.

Im also hoping to prepare for the GPA in sydney next year so got over a year to get ready, the funny thing is this my 1st time ever duin this lol, my gym lifts are pretty gud at the moment but have only been training for 10 weeks so far but i hope to hit the 300kg deadlift or more for the GPA next year. Even though my lifts are alright im still trying to get better technique on all lifts, been watching youtube and googling everything i can about it aswell,

300kg vid coming soon bro

Cool as Kaleb is one of the mates from auckz that use to do abit of armwrestling in the past.

Hey bro... welcome!

Are you still going to be able to squat and bench? Strictly speaking, yes, the Gymnation sign should be in all 3 videos, but as long as you're obviously still the same person and you've included the weigh-in, I reckon we can accept it. Can you prove it was filmed while this comp has been running (ie, from the 10 Dec)?

Just make sure you include the Gymnation sign in your other 2 videos.
