Finally after wanting to go there have finally saved up the money to do so. Flights booked and paid, cant wait.

No idea what doing for accomadation yet lol, have checked out this guys blog http://afarangabroad.com/2013/07/gyms-in-bangkok.html  for gyms to train at while over there. (Just there a week).  I see some of hotels have Gyms at them not sure of my budget yet if can afford to stay there yet. The free Gym at Park sounds like a good option :)

Anyone been there can tell me what to expect? May do some shopping too if anyone knows anywhere legit to go to. Not sure how going to bring back if do. Any tips on what to take? Was going to take protein powder as meals dont look to meaty other there.

Hey cuz, how you actually going?

Nice choice for a holiday, it's like being in a different world there man.

For accommodation use a website like agoda.com you can get some really good deals on there for Thailand.

When I stayed in Bangkok my hotel didnt have a very good gym so I just taxied over to the Marriott which is near nana plaza. They have a really good gym in there. A casual workout costs you about $35nzd... I was stupid enough to pay this the first time I went. After that I used it everyday for free. Just walk into the hotel like you own the place and go straight into the fitness centres in there. No one gonna question cause u a tourist and how would they know if you staying there or not. I coulda spent that $35 on 500 dbol and made a grand over here lol.

Ad for protein powder just buy a bag or a tub in nz and take it over with you, I had to buy mine from a gnc shop and 5lb worked out to be over $200nzd. I'm going over again in a week and am gonna take my protein with me.

as for the meals not containing much meat just tell them to add extra meat or buy 3 mains for less than you pay for a rip off $30 main over here. And good feeds too.

Most of the gear and pharmacies pretty good. There aren't many fakes as the ppl rely on reputation and return business word travels fast. All the stuff I bought was great and I just walked to closest pharmacies didnt even research.

If u go up pattaya there is alot more choice up there in comparison with bkk. It's fucken sin city ull just get absolutely lost over there.

All the shopping is the same shit, once you seen it once you seen it all. And the locals are fucken annoying when they tryna sell you shit... All these ppl say bartering is fun, dunno what works they on just pay the pricks what's on the label and ull have alot more time for gym and cocktails, dunno bout u but my times sure worth more than what I'm gonna save on some watch that's gonna shit it's self in 4 days. Personally I dnt like fake shit and would recommend just juicing, gymming, eating and hanging out at beach partying and stuff. Stay away from the markets and shit it's just full of poverty.

Definitky have a plan, dnt just go over there thinking ill do whatever cause a week ain't long and it's a big place.

I'm going over soon so ill chuck up some stories in this thread and tell you where I train and costs etc.

Wow awesome man, sweet. Im heading there on 21st this month. Pretty much just went and booked it on a whim. Will have to make a plan on what Im going to do i guess before I go. Havent really got a lot for spending money but sounds like its pretty cheap less than 50USD a day. Mainly want to do some sightseeing/experience different culture so dont expect to cost too much for that. Other things like shopping are just benefits :)

In regard to training looks like most of it is geared towards training for Muay Thai rather than a bodybuilding aspect. From a few posts I have read the aussies got there for 'steroid holidays'  so there must be a few good gyms to train at. Not too worried if only go once or twice due to have a deload week anyway. Thought would check out the free gym at Lumpini park.

Sweet I will be in pattaya for that week if you go there give a pm, we will go hard! It will cost u about $40nzd for a taxi from bkk to pattaya

There are plenty good weight gyms. The free one is at national park but just get on sky train 3 minutes and go to nana station then go to the Marriott hotel they have a really good gym there. Full set DBS, loads of machines, squat rack, bench press Etc.. Just bowl on in no one will say anything.

Head from Marriott up to nana plaza and u pass a McDonald's on same side as Marriott and then just before the gas station there is a pharmacy there which is good and has everything you don't needa order from a book and wait 24 hours like smaller ones. It's reasonable price too.

Ull have a blast mate!
