Not bad at all mate, how long have you been training?

I'd suggest you start a workout journal here where you can log and keep track of your training. It's a great way to look back and see what worked well and what maybe didn't, as well as get input on your training from our members. You can start one here - http://www.gymnation.co.nz/workout-central/workout-journals

Cool. Where will you be studying, Oxyfrog?

I don't want to rain on your parade, but I suspect your PT course won't provide much detail on strength training - at least not to a powerlifting level. The course will have other benefits, but my understanding is that most PT courses provide a broad overview. For specialist strength knowledge, you should talk to as many powerlifters as you can, and read up heaps. I'm sure the guys here can point you in the direction of some reading material. Ultimately, that'll help you get more out of your course, too.

And, as Phedder says, a workout journal is a good way to get people chime in with tips.

Hate to tell ya bro that a PT course isnt the be all and end all when it comes to strength training. It'll be useful no doubt but you also wanna spend time with those who have been in the trenches and soak up their knowledge, after all they got strong not just lectured on how to do so!

Some good strength athletes here (Wookie - Olympic lifting, Powerlifting, Strongman; Optimass - Powerlifting, Drizzt - Powerlifting; Danomyte - Olympic lifting, Powerlifting, Strongman and many others I've missed).

Cool thanks guys, I'm doing my P.T course to becomea personal trainer and I'm sure I'l learn the overview of training through that and I'l definately have a look at those guys and message them Nate. Im going to be studying at either New Zealand Insitute of Sport (NZIS) or New Zealand Institute of Health and Fitness (NZIHF). Got interviews this week to see which one will suit me and be more benificial. If you guys have any tips of suggestions feel free to say.
