I originally wanted to do bodybuilding but recently ive been rethinking my decision.  I really enjoy lifting but standing on a stage posing really doesnt have alot of appeal to me, I still respect and admire many body builders and watching the shows on the net. But I dont think its my thing, I could always change my mind though.

Been cutting since march but the last 2 months ive been struggling alot to stick with my diet, Ive got no idea why. Its like my menatlity has changed. Has anybody had this kind of issue?

Hey mate, welcome to the site. Those are quite reasonable lifts for your stats. Good stuff!

You don't have to get on stage to enjoy bodybuilding. For plenty of people (myself included at the moment) the personal challenge to keep bettering yourself is enough.

As for sticking to your diet, if it's a motivation issue, you're right in saying that it's largely mental. But what's behind that could be anything. It's really only something you can work out. Do you have a clear goal? A mental picture of where you want to end up? I find that helps me.

I've been dieting down during the last 4 weeks or so and also struggle with keeping on track. What has helped me out a lot is tracking my calories with a smart phone app.

Iv'e tried two apps and have settled on myfitnesspal. It sets your calories for you and you feel more compeled to stick to somthing if its written down.

The other thing it helps with is making you more aware of the foods you are eating and how they fit into your daily macros.

Well it's not easy! If it was everyone would be ripped.

I'm 2 weeks into my cut and definitely feel tempted to eat bad foods. Not even bad foods really, I could just eat a whole lot more than I am allowed. I'm competing in my first bodybuilding comp in two months which definitely helps with the motivation. Each time I crave food, I'll imagine my disappointment and regret if I step on stage not at 100%, especially if it's because I gave in to the temptations and had cheat meals here and there. Even if it's not a bodybuilding comp, it might help to have an event (like RnV lol) or a certain date to keep you motivated.

I like to watch Youtube bodybuilding motivational videos whenever I feel sluggish. After a few of those, I'm pumped up and ready to hit the gym even if I've just been.

Here are a few of my favourites. Might wanna bookmark them for easy access.

Anything by Zhasni or Shaq is generally pretty good!
