Couldn't find older threads that I think exist on this.

 

I'm keen to find a raw milk source for personal use and I just spoke to a barista who seeks the same for a cafe.

 

The internet has failed and the leads it produces are not valid.  One woman is furious about being identified as a source as she knows nothing about it.  So it's all pretty fail.

 

So: how can one source the white gold in central Auckland??

I'm pretty sure it would be questionable legally to use raw milk in a cafe? 

Anyhow - I think there has been threads on this before - but you're probably unlikely to find any in the CBD - might have to approach farms just outside auckland? 

I think the law is that they are only allowed to sell "from the farm gate" and you are supposed only be allowed a certain amount (I think?) 

Only place I've known was in Golden Bay, It was like a vending machine at a farm entrance, no idea about Akl or surrounding.

Had a quick skim through this link: http://www.legislation.govt.nz/regulation/public/2001/0326/18.0/DLM90514.html - doesn't seem to be anything in my quick browse about the legality of selling/supplying? (not saying there isn't, just I couldn't see it if so...)

I'll check on Monday, but I suspect that Frot FAQ lists the woman with no knowledge of the matter.

 

When I was living in Kelston last year that Henderson Valley spot would have been pretty handy.

 

hmm I guess it just isn't worth it to set up the infrastructure to make this easily accessible.

I spotted this thread on Goggle ... For anyone interested we are in the process of getting approval to sell the raw milk from our handfull of cows in Henderson Valley/Swanson. The cows are A2 and and the farm has been spray and pesticide free for 30 years+. Collection will be tailored specifically for raw consumption which is at a much higer level than going through a Fonterra dairy shed where it is assumed it will be pasturised. We won't be ready until the end of this year or early next year but we have had a surprising amount of interest already. Supply will be very limited because of the number of cows so to manage things we have started a waiting list for those wanting a regular supply.
