Arm Wrestling getting publicity

I don't know a lot about arm wrestling but it's definitely good to see the NZ scene getting some coverage.

Prime time television, billboards and bus stops even! Good work guys - and good luck to the big man heading overseas to compete against the world's best.

Seriously? By TV I assume you mean the evening news, so that's a PR thing. But billboards cost big money, and bus stops aren't cheap either. That's amazing - I don't know of any other gym sport that's been able to do that. I wonder how it's being funded? Have they got a big sponsor with deep pockets?

Was just grabbing some supplements from my sponsors (Nutratech / Bodybuilding.co.nz) and was talking about this with Chaun. I knew they'd sponsored armwrestling comps in the past but he tells me they are now sponsoring Maateiwarangi Heta-Morris and that he will be taking on all comers at the Fitness Expo, beat him & win $500. I'm picking you wanna wait till he's had a couple of hundred people go first LOL*good*

No one will beat him,  hes in a league of his own. I was at the auckland arm wrestling champs (in which my client won the 110kg division, avatar photo) and no one even came close to beating him. And we are taliking about veteran arm wrestlers whom train specifically for the sport. At the end of the comp he went up against every other competitor one after another with absolutely no rest between each one and went through everyone like they werent even there.

But I encourage people to go along and have a go, but as I mentioned earlier the strength aspect of the sport is very specific. My client who is the NZ 110kg champion is the same strength as me in the gym. On most lifts we are almost identical............but I arm wrestled him the other day just out of curiosity and he smashed me.

To make things funnier, Matt had an injury in the tendons in his right wrist that he got from Fitx in Aussie last year. So he wasn't even at his full power. Not sure if it's healed 100% yet but last I saw him it seemed to be getting better.
