Ive been a bit of a gym bunnie for a few years toying with the idea of competing in figure rather than hard out muscles - not that there is anything wrong with it but people I know get horrified with the idea of me and huge muscles - jealousy? who knows. Anyway what stops me is diet. I can do work out hard and really enjoy it but then I get these sugar cravings so bad that it seems all my hard work comes to nothing. Anyone else out there the same or am I just a sugar craving bunny as well. \:D/

hey welcome gym bunny.

those sugar cravings are due to sugar being so addictive. packed food producers know this too and take advantage of it so whether willingly or unwillingly, when you're eating most things you are further fuelling this addiction.

best thing for you to do is think about going sugar free (note: not fat free, sugar free) for a while. no soft drinks, no sweets, be careful about all the pre-packed foods you are getting.

depending on how bad you have it it will be anywhere between a week or a month until you just don't even care about sugar anymore.

for me giving up energy drinks was the hardest (habbit through Uni days) which took like a month but after that it's been so easy... used to 'need' 4 tsp of sugar with tea now just 1 or even none and i'm fine, no more weird cravings just stick with it and keep your head on the fact that physically you've worked/are working so hard in the gym and deserve to get to your goals - just little more focus on food and your target phsyique will be in your sights.
