Good luck to the NABBA-WFF peeps competing in Italy this weekend at the NABBA Worlds. Steve Orton, Rich Parnham, Annette Parnham, Lisa Bailey, Phil Kuklinski - go hard!

Also the peeps at ANB Champs in Queensland - Kat Bunting, Anne Jamieson, Paula Fearnly - all the best!

Oh yeah, some fatties are gonna smash some tin at Coast Barbell in Whangaparoa this weekend too - white lights to all those competing at the CAPO comp, big Hamish Coulter, Geordie Shields, Daniel, Big John Wharetohunga etc!

LATE EDIT! Good luck to CDPA lifters at 3 lift & bench Champs and APA lifters at the Auckland Bench Champs!

Weekend just got real busy!

My facebook better be burning up with results as they come to hand guys!

Great team set for the Nabbas and the ANB - as Nate said good luck to all.

CAPO Aucklands is going to be the most competitive the fed has experienced in a long time - only 3 equiped lifters registered shows a swing to raw lifting perhaps due to GPA Worlds next year in Sydney.

Fully amped for this bitch!

Any particular lifters to watch in different classes / lifts that stand out to you Opti?

I'm picking Red Machine (Rikki) for the overall based on calc. Prepare for total raw squat madness - He will easily clean up the 100kg class.

Hamish I'm picking will pip me on total but lifting with wraps - have him top overall total for the day. Panzers in but not sure if he's gonna wrap and face off with Hamish - will bring a 200+ bench in RAW+. Easy lockout last week 260kg deadlift indicates he'll potentially hit 280 or just above. He may go raw which means he and I same class and will post records open and sub-master. Should be a good battle.

Big John may be only 140 class (unless I overshot my carbs :pfft: ) - his 320kg DL at fitx was hard fought - will be interesting to see if he can bring it home with a squat and a bench in the same event. 300+ for sure DL.

Matt Morton - 110kg (junior). This kids got some talent - not some numbers but has had a lot of coaching from Damo and Chopper. Looking forward to seeing how much he has improved.

Choppers in too - he's had a bit on so played it down last week a bit. Hes been marked by Eugene T-Rex Tyrell and the two of them will make for a bit good friendly contest. (I know Chop - he's an animal on comp day ... wait and see)

Bronson Brown - equiped lifter - haven't heard much about him but spotted him a few months ago squatting to box @ 280kg - so hopefully see him a bit more confident as he was a little disappointing with his last 3 lift.

Tom Lee - second time I will have seen him lift... has put muscle on bone since last week expect a good lift in total from him.

Ladies:

Barbella (Rach) for the overall win. Most impressive and technically perfect lifter in the federation in my opinion.

Will be close on points for the woman and both Pitbull and Barbella face off in the 67.5kg class (mother daughter). Can never count pitbull out though - she lifts with a lot of heart and her technique is nearly as sharp as Rachs. Nicole Nicholson the only other variable - had an awesome lift a few months ago at all comers - and she managed to take pitbull out by only a few points. (bearing in mind PB had a baby 2 weeks earlier  ).

Bound to be a few others that pop out some good lifts amongst those registered. CBC events tend to bring out the fire in many and Rach and Damo (and the exec) put on a great event every time.

No mention of the wondrous pink beard that will be there, Opti? That alone is enough to draw record attendance.

Looking forward to this comp and seeing some big numbers lifted. Especially the battles between you big lads.

Best of luck to everyone competing this weekend over all of the comps - also Auckland Bench Champs, CDPA Bench Champs + Novice on as well. I think Jason Cunningham-Gerbich will be lifting at the Akl Champs? Spotted him (National bench I think?) last year, freaky strong guy, such an awesome sight to see in person

SG has this in the bag I'd say, on formula AND absolute weight lifted.

Just got up to Whangaporoa and it's weird, when youre powerlifting you have no idea how you'll go the next day. At least the night before a bodybuilding show you can check your physique every few hours but after a week of de loading (read: 1 train this week and it was just chest and i went heavy :pfft: ) I just have have faith the plan will work and I won't be too off tomorrow.

Anyway the lineup looks great, will be some impressive lifters in all categories. I have some target numbers but I'm not going to get carried away if I don't hit them, just want to enjoy the day, I've never been to CBC before \:D/

Good luck to everyone lifting up and down the country tomorrow!

Just a quick update and an aside comment from one current ifbb pro to start the day.

He said interesting how there had been about 10 comments about bringing Tom back (andbunches on AAS use) and only Gymrats single comment about Steve Ortons world beating achievement!!!! I guess it doesnt take much to realise why more advanced bodybuilders that actually compete struggle at time with nzbb - I'm actually wondering when the last time I learnt anything of value here was? Given that was why I joined all those years ago! (Not being negative by the way - just food for thought when people wonder why the pros/top amateurs are not contributing often here).

Anyway quickly before I hit cardio, what a huge weekend!

Powerlifting - haven't heard much other than CAPO results yet - some awesome lifting Hamish Coulter, John Wharetohunga etc!

ANB's - awesome results girls, Paula, Anne and my good friend KatyBea!! Well done!

Nabba Worlds - as gymrat said - best team ever! Lisa Bailey 2nd and Steve Orton 1st overall! World Champion. ...how fucken good is he!!!

Big congrats to Dave and Lisa getting married in Italy too!
