Just wanted to know what grip you guys use?

I often get dry skin so when i got heavy i tend to get skin tears which make things like cleaning my hands painful as hell. So i any tip for reducing calluses would be much appreciated.

Obviously i don't want to completely remove them as they form to protect my skin.

...for which exercise?

As for hand care, I used to keep up with the below, but I'm too lazy to do it (and often pay in the form of torn calluses). I ordered some bag balm in from the states after watching this vid.

Sweet. Bit of advice: when I hook gripped in the past, I found it easiest to learn by working it in to my warmup sets until it started to get uncomfortable, then I moved up to doing reps here and there with my working weights using hook, until eventually I was able to use hook grip for everything without a lot of pain. Don't jump straight into hook gripping the working weights, it'll probably just discourage you :pfft:

I found that the pain never really goes after you get used to hook gripping, but it certainly becomes manageable. Good luck! Nothing quite like seeing someone deadlifting heavy with a hook grip IMHO :phear:

Hook Grip for me   like D said the pain never goes away but becomes more managable. I stanley knief my callouses then emery paper them, you need your hands soft, the callouses no matter what size will tear once the weight gets up and also depending on the bars used too.
