Cold and Flu, feeling MEH

^Yes except going to the gym. Don't

You probably don't have flu for starters. If you actually have a cold, the best thing to do is rest, eat and drink what you can (just eat whatever you feel like), and rest more. You'll most likely need to take the rest of the week off. This will affect your short and long term progress nil, zero, zilch.

Some people train when sick but they're assholes for spreading disease around the gym (as you have now found out) and they aren't doing them selves any favours either.

Don't go to the gym and don't go to work. People who do so when sick are assholes IMO. You'll recover faster if you rest, stay hydrated and fed. If it's a bacterial infection (green phlegm) then go to the doc and get some antibiotics. If it isn't (clear phlegm), don't bother.

You'll know if you have the actual flu as it is nothing like a simple cold. In this case def go to doc

I agree wth diabolic, your immune system is working over drive trying to combat a virus or bacterial infection, going to the gym will not only spread unwanted germs around ,but put added pressure and stress on your heart and lungs.Rest, hydrate, eat protein n sleep.GIve it a week and you will be good to go.

So much cold and flu going around! Are you based in Christchurch by any chance? I swear 1/3 people are sick..

Lemon, honey and ginger didnt really help, but tastes good and kind of makes you think your getting better.

have had the cold for over a week, pretty mild.

but I avoid any cardio in case I move the infection directly into my lungs. Depends on whether it's bascteria or virus but if your lungs are ok and it's just a sniffle and sore throat, try and keep it that way.

I still go to the gym unless I'm really bad...also avoid excessive protein and overworking anything.

For non-natty's I try and avoid antibiotics as it halts growth. Just last week the Chinese revealed that their studies prove antibiotics halt a child's growth for the period of consumption.

too much information

Read it off a link on Weibo sorry dude.

Paper was released Dec 2012 and included nearly 11,000 subjects.

Results out it were targeted antibiotics that were more child-friendly as some are not...and shorter duration than an adult. Dosage the same they couldn't get results with less apparently.

Sorry, might appear in on a Baidu search sometime soon.

Think thy already know this as their prescribed treatments of antibiotics isn't like ours. Here we r given a bottle and told to take them until all gone. They do short course with lightest antibiotic first and only if not effective do they prescribe a stronger one for a short time...but of course it's OTC so most just buy and self-prescribe lol
