At 23 years of age and with a set of freaky wheels like he has I can see definite Olympia potential > hard to say top 10 because he still has a LONG time before he peaks - he has some freaky body-parts that are only going to get freakier. I stood next to him back stage last year at nationals and wished I was 10kg heavier ... and I wasnt small for my class. I got the same feeling standing next to Tony Freeman at fitX.

Sounds like sponsors are very keen to chat to him so he may get some support in taking it to the next level if he chooses to move out of amateurs.

Genetics are solid in both him and his younger brother - IMO anything is possible until proven otherwise.

And I'm not talking about his angles on specific strikes, more routine etc.

Very stiff and robotic and a hard watch.

Shame as his physique is awesome, needs to watch little mass monsters like Lee Priest etc as he was smooth and slow.

My guess from seeing that is he hates the routine anyway as he is in and out real fast but I could be way off.

I guess if steve chooses to go pro he will really need to focus on the entertainment factor rather than the pure competitive aspect required in amateur shows.

Great to watch that video tho - made me really see how much better he is than anyone currently competing in NZ. Inspirational and daunting considering as a class 2 mens I still have to stand next to him on stage! :shock:

I don't know if he has aspirations about being a Pro - Steve keeps his cards close to his chest on most things, generally lets his actions do the talking. However if he was going Pro he'd have to go IFBB route as NABBA is amatuer only. WBF (or something similar) that Paul Dillet had a hand in had a Pro division but not the size or prestige of the established Pro division.

Time will tell I guess?

Back to Steves posing, I think that while it is not the best, he does it with a real hardcore edge to his presentation that also comes across in his pics. Could be very marketable in the US, a bit like Sonny Schmidt (who was no Lee Labrada at presentation) with his Thunderstruck routine, there is a definate market for that.

Speaking of posts being "typical of the garbage you spout", Android... You keep making these snarky little digs at me and the mods. If you have an issue with the way we run the site, why not tell me directly in a PM? If you're really concerned about the standards of posts on the forum, making these snide comments certainly doesn't improve things. :?

Personally, I haven't had a lot of time on here the last few weeks. Trying to get Gymnation up and running has meant there's not been much time for NZBB (or sleeping, for that matter...)

This post did get reported, and I saw the mods discussing it. I'm not sure why it didn't get edited, or why GF wasn't suspended. It may be the mods were waiting for a final nod from me. If that's the case, we'll look at ways of giving mods more autonomy - I certainly don't want them to feel like I need to approve everything they do. I'll look into it.
