NZ's best bodybuilder at present?

Recommended Posts

Lots of talk about who NZ's best bodybuilder HAS been, but if we focus on who's currently competing I'd say Steve Orton has got to be up there for any Pro or Amateur in any federation in NZ.

Thoughts? Who can you see that could stand next to him and push him for the win?

Here he is after his win on the weekend in Melbourne. No carb load or dehydration as his focus is the Southern hemispheres in a few weeks where his caliber will be put to the test against jake Nikopoulis, phil Primmer and Darryl Tomuli.

So the question really is who's the best in-condition bodybuilder right at the moment? Or the one with the most potential?

Pointless question IMO... just wait until the nationals (for NABBA-WFF and NZFBB) at the end of the year... then you will know who the best is of the amateurs

Moe's pro sho will show who the best of the pros is.

If u want to be known as the best then go and win a show. Then you are the best for that year.

well obviously onekawa still dwarfs him but steve orton has better potential and just looks better

Really?

I'm not sure exactly what weight Steve was, but was 115kg a few days out @ 5'9". Not too sure he's getting dwarfed by Darren these days. Pointless to debate though as I don't think they'll be on stage together anytime soon.

Potential is a totally different question, if it was about that I'd be saying kagan, who @ 21 is nearly as big as steve, with the aesthetic proportions needed to win the junior worlds last year.
