Help get a young weightlifter to uni games!

Hey guys, a friend of mine has been selected as the sole weightlifter from NZ to compete at the World Uni Games in Kazan, Russia. He needs some help fundraising to get there. It'd be great if we could get behind him and get NZ on the platform, as little as $5 can make a big difference. Here's his page;

My name is Douglas Sekone-Fraser I am a fourth year Phedder (Physical Education student) at the University of Otago. I love weightlifting and as many of you may know I qualified and was selected to compete in this year World Uni Games in Kazan. I will be the sole weightlifter from NZ travelling to Kazan from 6th-17th July to compete in the World Uni Games, and will be the first of many Kiwis who will compete in the biennial event.

I am honored to be given the chance to represent my country and university as I attempt to defy gravity and lift a monstrous amount of weight over my head. Such a high level of competition will ultimately assist me in my goal to compete in the Commonwealth Games next year.

Competing in Kazan is a dream that seems distant for a scafie at around $5600 for the basics to compete. I have set up this PledgeMe page so you, my generous friends, family and people of PledgeMe can help me achieve this dream. I'm not asking for the whole $5600, just $1500 to go towards the trip. All support is greatly appreciated.

I will be adding more rewards as soon as I can, and photos and videos of training. Thanks for your support.
